People have access to William Shakespeare’s work in all sorts of platforms, people can access William Shakespeare's written work at a play at a theater or on a film at the movie theater or simply read it at the library. One can easily find William Shakespeare’s work almost about anywhere and everyone will hear the same story no matter what platform one will see it on. Numerous versions of Shakespeare’s work is out there and people tend to change things up a bit to make it more fresh and hook the audience. At times, characters may be portrayed differently in different versions or even change the setting and tone. Characterization, setting and tone are one of the main components the make up a story and it has a huge impact on how the audience may feel about the story. In the film version, the characters and the setting play a huge role in the making of the tone. The character portrayal gives the movie a realistic tone that people can relate to. In addition, setting and the clothing gives the story a much older and darker appearance. It will allow the audience to see how people acted in the past and all the fog in the open area gives the story a darker tone. In the play version, characters and the setting give the story a dark and very emotional tone. The acting in the play is over exaggerated and not entirely realistic to how a human acts. The stage and clothing gives a dark and modern look. Throughout most of the play, the background is always pitched black and it gives a sad and evil appearance to the story. In comparison, the film and the version and the play version both have the roles of playing dark and depressing tones, however, with different actions.
