To classify someone as a great leader one need to evaluate accomplishments, goals, and personal characteristics. Abraham Lincoln was the sixteenth president of the United States of America and a great leader in the eyes of his people. Throughout the novel the author mentioned some characteristics that president Lincoln exemplified as a leader and commander of the United States. Nevertheless president Lincoln was an amazing leader to his fellow countrymen, the following aspects results orientation, integrity, and a concerned leader are what made him a great leader. But this didn't stop him from dreaming and becoming the great leader he was one day. Lincoln saw money as a very important tool for one person to have in order to survive. Not as an ambitious way he saw money, but as the factor one needs in order to get wages to the works and a way to get through life so that one could buy their meals, clothing and many other supplies one need and that it isn't free but costs money. He lived the normal life as any other men did he flirt with women, suffered, played sports and did somewhat dirty jokes, everything a normal person does. All he wanted was the truth from his people as how they expected from His truth morality and righteousness from him. According the novel “ Honesty and Integrity are the best policies” because part of his myth was that to be fair, trustworthy, sincere, and straightforward. He even got a nickname of “Honest Abe” giving more credit toward his personality of him being honest with his people always telling them the truth, whether it was something positive or negative but with the truth and no matter how bad the situation was. He once was left with a big costful problem where he was able to solve little by little thanks to his honesty and not with lies that could have led him from one problem to another. Many of his colleagues agreed with him that honesty and integrity were what build a strong leader and that's what made him a great leader for being honest all the time. Honesty and integrity is what holds an organization together according to many of the subordinates. Another factor that we don't really see today in many of the presidents that we have their promises way too many things thinking that the job of a president will be easy when in reality it is not, especially when they can't be honest with themselves, making it even harder to accomplish the promises they state before actually being elected as the next president.
