The happiness of our dogs is a priority in most homes. We buy the most expensive food, the best treats, and spoil our dogs with more toys than they know what to do with. As dog owners, we sometimes forget the importance of nutrition. We think the most expensive food has to be the best food for our dog or we go by brand name rather than taking the time to read a label. When we become careless in this way, it is easy for our pets to become deficient in certain nutrients. Iron is a supplement that could easily be overlooked in most food by the owner which can lead to detrimental health problems in your dog. Iron is important in preventing anemia in your average dog as well as aiding in proper growth of puppies in a pregnant bitch. Ensuring there are proper amounts of iron in your dog’s diet is crucial in their overall health and in preventing your dog from becoming anemic.
