Klaatu is a Metaphorical Jesus Christ Films from the 1950s were largely science fiction, The Day the Earth Stood Still is one of those films. The movie focuses on an alien named Klaatu that comes to Earth with an important message, that will affect all of humanity. After watching this film it’s common for those with a small background in Christian beliefs to see the references to Jesus Christ throughout the film. During this period, most Americans believed in the religion of Christianity and its views, which made it easy for the predisposed comparisons to Klaatu and Christ easy for people to see. As presented in the article by Krin Gabbard, it can be easy to conclude that Klaatu from The Day Earth Stood Still is an indirect allegory to the Christian figure, Jesus Christ. Through the films multiple signs and clues, such as Klaatu …show more content…
and the U.S Army immediately surrounds it. Klaatu then steps out and declares that he comes with a message and in peace. He is then shot by a hesitant solider, and taken to a nearby military hospital. Klaatu requests a meeting with all the world’s leaders to share his message. After he is told that is not possible, he proceeds to escape and takes the name of John Carpenter and go amongst the community. He gets a meeting with Professor Barnhardt and tells him that if his message is not heard Earth will be destroyed. Barnhardt agrees to arrange a meeting with the world’s greatest scientists. Before the meeting can take place Klaatu is shot again by the army, only this time it kills him. Right before he dies he tells Helen to get to his robot, Gort, and say these words “Klaatu Barada Nikto”. Helen tells Gort the words and he takes her into the ship, and then comes back with Klaatu in his arms and brings him back to life. He then proceeds to tell the scientists that if they keep fighting like they are and it extends to the outside of our planet then Earth will be
man. He made this film with his agnostic point of view, and designed it to reflect the anti-religious

that people must follow Christ, not Luther. But by then he had become, in the popular imagination, a saint, a miracle-
Over the past few days, the class and I have watched a film titled One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Throughout the film, you began to see some parallels to the main character, McMurphy, and that of Jesus Christ. There are many references to the Christian religion within the film.
Kin is still able to push on. Kin had found Joseph and he had a little girl. Joseph said he would kill her, but Kin’s speed had gotten them out of the situation and got on a boat to return home. The ship is attacked and there ship was badly damaged to the point of them having to land on an island. The ship is repaired and they sail back to their home. When they return home, Kin’s settlement is attacked by more of Joseph’s men. This time it was his right hand man who was leading the charge. The battle had continued on and on to the point to where it was just the both of Kin and Joseph’s right hand man. Both battle and Kin comes out
All comes to show, that Christianity took hold on the ancient world because it was easy, convenient and powerful. Christianity is a strong religion seeming as it still stands
Many viewers would call this book a Pseudo-Christian. “Pseudo-Christian media is any book, movie, etc. that presents itself as Christian, but is an imitation or intentional deception of the true gospel of Jesus Christ.” (Fairchild) Pseudo-Christian is a manipulative way to get a hidden message across. There are many movies, books , and tv shows that try to use Christian views and religion, but they manipulate it in such a way it isn't noticeable to nonbelievers. It is the devil who manipulates religion and faith to try to deceive people. Matthew 7:15 warns us, “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous
I opened my eyes and saw a huge bugger slapping my face. “ Ender Wiggin, the strongest human warrior.” The bugger spoke to me. I was frightened, but reacted quickly. “ Who are you? What did you do to earth?” Now I was sure that these malicious monsters defeated us and my frustration arose spontaneously. “ First, I want to apologize to you. Exactly as you said, earth has been destroyed by us and you are the only one who survived. There is no one who can predict the tragedy happen because at the beginning, we just want to fight back. Unfortunately, no one can stop the weapon’s power.” “Valentine! Where is Valentine? You are killer!’’ I couldn’t accept the fact that Valentine had left me, I burst into tears. “ Who is the killer? Us? You humans are! You are the source of the disaster!” The bugger was even angrier than me, its twisty face looked like it wanted to devour me. Its words were not wrong, we caused the whole catastrophe, now it destroyed our world. However, although I was captured by buggers, my heart was with Valentine all the time. I must find her! I tried to stand up toughly, to my surprise, the bugger supported me with its small hand. I looked at its eyes, “ I am the queen.” She told me.
Throughout science fiction films, there are different icons that vary from film to film. One of the most predominant icons in science fiction film is the robot. Iconography is the visual images and symbols used in a work that can be studied or interpreted. Elements of visual content that appear over and over again in film become visual conventions or icons that are understood by the filmmaker and the audience. Robots are seen in a wide range of science fiction films, which allows the viewer to be drawn to recognition of their expressive singularity. Both Gort from The Day the Earth Stood Still and Robby the Robot from Forbidden Planet, are icons of science fiction robots, who each carry out a different function and are presented differently to spectators, but are still both visualized as science fiction robots. Gort is a mysterious “policeman”, while Robby the Robot bears no resemblance to Gort and serves as a sort of “butler”. Gort and Robby the Robot obtain super-human qualities which allow them to be innovative and intellectually complex to the audience. Although, both characters may be called the same thing,

Equiano's own exposure of Christianity first began when he was no older than 12 years old and was first arriving in England, where he experienced the sight of snow for the first time. Curious to what it was, he asked a mate and soon found out that " a great man in the heavens, Called God " [Olaudah Equiano, The Interesting Narrati...
C. S. Lewis based most of his writings on his Christian faith. The Chronicles of Narnia series illustrates the Christian symbolism of Lewis’ writing. In Chronicles of Narnia, the protagonist lion, Aslan is symbolized as Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was also known as the Lion of Judah in the Bible according to Revelation 5:5. In The Lion, the Witch and the W...
“Your professor was right. At the precipice, we change.” The Day the Earth Stood Still were to films based on the same topic: preserving and taking care of the Earth. Although each movie had the same genre, characters, and underlying theme, there were many different aspects to each movie.
Through the use of Christian symbolism, conflicts, and imagery, C. S. Lewis implements his religious background into his literary works.
Today Christians see Christ somewhat through the prism of Paul's teaching. My dear follower, Luke, would write one of the Gospels as well as the Book of Acts. My life was vitally shaped by a dramatic meeting with Christ on the Road to Demascus and it was this drama, coupled with his fervor that would mold Christianity for the next two Millenia.
