Experiences in life shape our personalities, but we are influenced primarily by our relationship with our primary caregiver. John Bowlby developed a theory based on attachment between a mother and infant and how it affects a child’s development process. The attachment theory emphasizes the importance of a secure, loving, caring, and trusting relationship in a mother-child bond.
