Is Cheating Always Unethical?

First of all, is it ethical to cheat? That question can not be answered with a simple yes or no, there are more things that come into play such as, what are they cheating on, is it simply cut and pasted or did they make it there own. Cheating is not as big of a deal as people make it out to be, it is just a means to an end. Nothing anyone ever will do, no rules any university would make will change this fact. People will cheat and a majority of them will get away with it never thinking twice about it. Cheating does not harm anyone, including the person cheating, as much as it is made out to be, everyone cheats in life at some point , cheating is just getting students ready for the real world. The only type of cheating that is bad in anyway, is shoddy cheating; cheating that the person does not take the time to make it look like ones own. Skilled cheater can cheat so well it is almost impossible to tell, they make the thing they cheated their own. Cheating has gotten a bad rap, it is something that will help one do well in this world and get what they want and/or need done to make any effect in the world.

You have to cheat to get ahead in the real world, I am sorry to say that but, it is the truth. In a job interview one may add some things to their resume to make them better then the other people trying for the job. In the real world people cheat all the time, it is the only way to get things done in a quick and efficient manor. Academic cheating, for the most part is more helpful then hurtful. If one can do it right and get away with it, it shows them how to manipulate, how to get them to believe what you did is your own work and believe you. That is much more beneficial to a person in the real world then a paper on the reason...

Therefore, cheating is not as bad as people make it out to be. It is a way to teach young people about the real world, if they can do it in a skilled enough way they will be better for it. The cheating that was manly talked about in this essay was not really academic cheating, but cheating in the real world, they are one in the same, to quote Jeri Ryan “Cheating is often more efficient”(197). It may not be the best thing for someone to do but it gets the job done. It is a useful skill that allow the person to find out things about the world the saying “cheaters never prosper” is false, they are the ones that go the farthest in life. A better way to look at it is if you don’t cheat you will do worse in life, “ nice guys finish last.”
