‘Mum, I want to watch Superman movie!’ ‘Okay, John, but you must finish your homework first,’ mum says. When we were small, we loved to watch superheroes movie and most of us used to imagine ourselves as our favorite superheroes. When we grow up, superhero movies become part of our lives. We all love superheroes because they made us feel save and secure. Some of us even worship them as God and we try to imitate them. For me, superhero movies are the best and I love to watch them very much. My favorite superhero movies are ‘Iron Man 3’ and ‘ The Dark Knight Rises’. Although both of them are superhero movies, there are few similarities and differences between them, which are the costumes, moral values, technology and also hero characteristic.
First, both of them have different kind of costume. For ‘ Iron Man 3’, Stark invents robot exoskeleton that is made up of iron and other kinds of metal. The main robot, which he usually uses, is the one with red and white color. There are other robot colors, which are dark green, blue, yelow, dark red and black. Those costumes are real cool and the costume color can hardly be faded, as they are made of aluminium and strong metal, unless others hit them hard. The costumes are also designed with color light and it can be seen obviously at night. For ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, batman has his own suit, which is most probably in black color all the time. The costume comes with cloak, which makes it looks awesome and cool. At the same time, batman wears a belt, which can put all his equipments into it. He also wears a pair of gloves and boots in order to prevent him from been injured easily. Whenever batman is doing his mission, he will wear black mask in order to cover his identiity. At the same time, in the movie ‘ The Dark Knight Rises’, Brune Wayne is willing to become batman once again when he knows that his city his in grave danger. Although he is old and has been defeated by Bane once, he does not give up and he is willing to sacrifice his life to save his city. Both of the movie characters are not giving up and they are willing to sacrifice to save others. ‘No pain, no gain’. They gain their own victory at the end and again, they bring peaceful and justice to the country.
As a nutshell, the movies ‘ Iron Man 3’ and ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ are totally awesome movies and I admire the two main characters very much, as I have learnt lots of good qualities from them and more importantly, I am been touched by the movies.

The hero was Sydney Carton and the bad people were probably the revolutionaries, Madame Defarge and Monsieur Defarge. In the movie The Dark Knight Rises innocents, were also killed but in several different ways. In this movie, the bad guy was Bane and his accomplices, and the hero was Batman.
We are currently living in the Golden Age of Superheroes. They dominate our cultural life, and have become seemingly permanent fixtures in modern media. Today, the much anticipated film Superman vs. Batman has come to theaters. Though a plethora of superhero movies have been released, it is to the dissatisfaction of many, having long been exhausted by the stories of the Hulk, Batman, and Spider-man. Interestingly, the movie puts a twist on the the true Batman origin. By having the Joker create Batman by killing Bruce’s parents, the Batman was created to avenge evil. This being said, the traumatic experience has created a hero whose definition of justice is left to the character’s moral. Traumatized, it is clear that the Batman seeks revenge not only because the Joker murdered his parents, but also for interfering with love interest Vicki Vale. By putting Vicki Vale at risk, the Batman’s traumatic experience is tested to the limits. The origins of Batman describes a hero who will not kill, yet in this movie, the Batman easily slaughters villains with a machine gun while flying his plane. A Batman who is willing to kill cannot be justified but is seen as justified to the character as a permanent way to resolve his traumatic experience with the Joker. In the climax of the movie, Batman is hanging on the edge with Vicki Vale. Instead of just saving Vicki, Batman interferes with the Joker’s escape which ultimately leads to the Joker’s death. Through Bruce’s eyes justice was the Joker’s death when he could have just saved Vicki. Although this movie was the most entertaining, it depicts a hardened character faced with the true reality of life. One doesn’t often think about comparing movies as different as Forrest Gump and The Dark Knight Rises. Because they’re completely different genres, it’s hard to imagine they could have any similarities at all. But after thinking about it for a long time, it starts to make a little bit of sense.

In our society, certain ideals are held in high regard. Individuals relentlessly pursue these ideals to achieve a perceived perfection. These principles are often depicted in media that further glorifies and establishes a desire to pursue these paragons. In a medium such as comic books, however, these standards and perceptions are heavily distorted by the characterizations and settings. Particularly, the superhero genre absorbs the ideals we strive towards and regurgitates them in an extreme and unrealistic manner. The superhero genre is often reflective of societal changes in ideas and morals. These ideals are then molded into misleading representations that influence the behaviors of viewers. Comic books absorb elements of our society and transform them. For example, as the enemies of America change, so do the enemies of our superheroes. However, the enemies are transformed into supervillains that are extremely dark and villainous. Such characterizations cloud people’s understanding of real threats and enemies affecting our society. Also, to cater to the value that American society places on intelligence, attractiveness, and physical strength, comic books create characters that epitomize these characteristics. Though the represent society’s ideals, these characters manipulate the ideas and convey them back to the audience in an unrecognizable manner. In developing such distorted representations, the superhero genre affects human behavior and perceptions of these ideals.

After his parents dying, Batman, or Bruce Wayne, have promised himself to get rid of the evil in the city. He spent most of his childhood training his intellectual and physical abilities in order to defeat the villains. As a result, Batman is considered one of the most intelligent superheroes around. According to Caleb Hu, “[Bruce Wayne] is cited to have an IQ of 192 and is considered to be a polymath” (Quora). Due to the fact that he have started traveling when he was just a teenager, he have learned about many subjects, such as “physics, math, chemistry, engineering, etc.” (Quora). Because of the loss of his parents, he have become driven to continue and push his limits in order to learn more about the elements of the criminal mind. On the other hand, Iron Man has a different type of intelligence. Before Tony Stark’s parents died, he have been sent to MIT at the age of 15 to study the numerous scientific fields, such as physics, engineering, and computer science. After his parents have died, he have acquired the family business, which was the Stark’s Industries. His intelligence have outperformed most of the superheroes. In addition to his intelligence, “ Stark was once called the world’s most adept multi-tasker by Reed Richards, due to his ability to compartmentalize his mind into three separate yet independently operating sections” (CBR.com).
With his one of a kind armor suits, quirky characteristics and beyond extreme superpowers, Iron Man is by far one of the supreme Marvel superheroes. While most superheroes are commonly known for simply ‘saving the day’, Iron Man goes above and beyond. His sarcastic attitude and witty comments are hilarious and bring a sense of humor to viewers and fans, showcasing that he is so much more than your typical superhero. Iron Man is simply incomparable and his superiority and even more intelligent mind are just additional examples for his greatness. He is looked upon as a leader to others and has saved the planet more than enough times as proof of his hard work. Even without the suit, Tony proves to be a superhero with his worthy and kind intentions. Long live the legacy of an incredible man, and superhero!
