The way person leads a group of people or an organization is key to a successful business or outreach. There are many styles and techniques for a leader to implement. Christian leaders are no exception; some might say being a leader in a church organization can be a more scrutinizing position than other leaders. Since, a church leader has expectations on how they should act or conduct themselves because of the Christian faith. This paper will discuss an interview with a person in leadership brother Larry and will give an account of his leadership approach. Furthermore, what strengths and weaknesses are prevalent according to authors Kouzes and Posner and the model they have in their book, Christian Reflections on The Leadership Challenge.
The interview with brother Larry who is a deacon at Rock Church International and serves as a door greeter, usher, and is involved in prison ministry was conducted. The results gathered showed that Larry is in fact a good leader. The questions that were asked were designed to find out what Larry thought a leader should be and act. Moreover, the questions examined how Larry would handle complications and conflicts not only with his the people that were in his charge but what would happen to him if he were found in conflict with the vision of the overall organization. For example, the first interview question asked was, what does leadership mean to you? Larry answered, being able to show someone what the right thing to do is and do it the right way. Character and integrity were often mentioned because of the organization being a church and the way a Christian is understood to conduct themselves.

...ods can integrate so that they can coexist in order to maximize the potential of the program. “But while some of us have more apparent power or status – measured by the scale and sphere where we can gather a creative community – the truth is that none of us has full access to the networks that others have,”(Crouch, 2008, p.247). No one individual no matter how much power or connections they have can change culture, it takes many people to network together in order for issues to transform for the better. For the simple fact that over, time values and assumptions of life change and for people who want to change culture need to find new ways to attack struggles. Certainly, the percentage of the American society that is incarcerated or predicted to be in their lifetime is a cultural problem that is only getting worse and sadly, there is no solution on the horizon.
