It is always an amazing experience when you could meet someone and have a conversation with them in less than an hour and learn so much intriguing information about them, like you’ve known them for years. I was fortunate enough to meet a student by the name of Thabo Mochebelele that was kind enough to let me and my group interview him because we was no able to get in contact with our assigned international student. The young man was born in Champagne, Illinois but moved to South Africa at the age of three and resided there for seventeen years.

There was no challenge within this interview because Thabo was more than wilily to answer all questions given to him. There never came a point in the interview where we were thinking about what to say. Everything flowed naturally like we had previous knew him and his story before.
In other words, the interview was a great experience. I enjoy every minute of it from the time I knocked on his door until I left out the room finish with the interview. Thabo kept us laughing the entire interview. We felt like we gained a friend after we left. He was a great fit for our group and we always wanted to know more and for him to elaborate on certain experience he encountered.
During this interview, the skills that were used the most were open ended questions. We asked him questions that always went into the next question. Eye contact was a huge factor that we made sure to use to make him comfortable. We talk about his strengths by pointing out him not being like the men in his country that were rude because he had a great personality that caught our attention the moment he told us to just walk in his
