The first signs of life date back to 2.9 billion years ago but before the 19th century, most people had believed in God, creation, or Intelligent Design. This all changed when The Origin of Species was Published in 1859 by Charles Darwin; he believed in the concept of species changing over time, evolution. The most controversial topic the world has ever known. From ideas of the ancient Greeks, Romans, and Chinese as well as in medieval Islamic science. Beginning with modern biological taxonomy when two opposing ideas influenced with what today is known as Intelligent Design and Evolution. “No matter whether they are simple single-celled protozoa or highly complex organisms with billions of cell, they all begin as single cells that reproduce themselves by similar division,” (Pauling). Thus meaning that all living creatures on the earth have the ability to create complex molecules from elements already given to them naturally. Sound like a coincidence that all plants and animals receive specific characteristics from their parents by inheriting certain combinations of genes? It should because this is DeoxyriboNucleic Acid or DNA. A molecular biologist has discovered that genes are in fact segments of DNA molecules in our cells. With all this being said evolution is tied up in this because of our one common ancestor. All major chemical and anatomical similarities between living things can be logically derived under sharing one common ancestor. He writes, “Intelligent design has been called everything from ‘creation in a cheap tuxedo’ to a ‘trojan horse’ to a ‘sham.’ and those are some of the kinder put-downs.” Greg is correct when someone who thinks they are credible about ID they begin talking about a “creator.” The funny thing is, though; he never has a name or any relation he is just there and he creates things in a scientific way. Who wants to believe in a creator they do not even know who he is. This is like picking a theory from a hat and believing in whichever one you choose with no explanation or evidence. The most difficult part about believing in intelligent design is the fear. The fear of what the scientific community will think of them and change their views. ID is bad news. Bad new for anyone who has built careers, labs, and reputation in darwin's hands, for those who are seeking escape from deeper implications of human existence and even those who are more concerned about protecting orthodoxy. Intelligent design is not viewed by the scientific community as a threat because there is no conclusive evidence dating back to
