Simple Steps on to Be Loyal
Loyalty is one of the traits that people generally say is important to them in relationships, be it romantic, friendship, business, or otherwise. Yet some of us don’t make it a priority or give that quality enough credit. Also, loyalty is most of the time the basis of these other concepts. Without the presence of loyalty a strong relativity can never be built. Other than emotional relativities, loyalty is valid for many other areas, as well. However, loyalty is a multi-valued concept. “Can be true to his word, the words said, to a loved one.” - Veronica Roth, Allegiant. True friendship remains strong and unbreakable despite time and trials. Friendly relations are based on trust and mutual assistance, therefore exclude selfish motives and betrayal. However, life often puts a person in front of a difficult choice, in which only a few choose the right way, while others - fall victims of mistakes, and can commit treason, betraying the best feelings including comradely affection. Also, being a friend to someone means they have my full support, not exchange for something in return, but for the simplicity of seeing them happy. For example, if my friend needs a ride to school because her car broke down, they know they have my support for a ride to school and for money to help fix their car if needed. In addition, if my friend has doubts on whether they should date someone, or whether they should take a certain job, I will give them my honest opinion with meaningful reasons to make my thoughts more validating. Also, I'm trying to trust my friends until they give me a reason not to. If a reason is given, I will try to fix what's broken. If there is no possibility of mending our friendship, I will slowly distance myself from them. However, if they try to keep our friendship alive, it will be a true indication that our friendship is worthwhile, if they don't, they probably didn't think it was worth

At the beginning of the book, I believed that Dicey had to sacrifice everything she loved to keep her siblings close and together. But, as the novel goes on, you see that Dicey did not have to give up as much, since the one thing Dicey treasured the most was her family. Sure, they did make her mad and annoyed at times, but she loved them, and all she wanted was to keep them safe. Her love is what made her so allegiant toward getting to Aunt Cilla’s home. A similar situation applied for the siblings. Sammy, the youngest child, was a real, “mama’s boy.” You can tell that when their mother left them, he was the child that was in denial for a while. “Go on, because nobody cares about me except Momma, and Momma will come find me but she won’t find you, so you ahead (Pg 41).” But eventually Sammy finally admitted that Momma was gone, and that made his loyalty to Dicey even stronger. He fished, cared, and even stole so his family would be safe. In this example, loyalty kept the Tillerman siblings close together. But, even in a more futuristic, fictional story, this concept exists.
