“America is another name for opportunity”.America is a land full of freedom and opportunity for immigrants that emigrate from different countries. They all try to find a new way of living and starting a new life in America. An American is someone who honors his country, someone who is a hard worker, someone who expresses himself.
Everyone from different countries appreciate and honor the country they live in. I can relate to Anzia Yezierskis idea of what it means to be an American because I believe if you want to be someone and reach your goals you have to work hard for them. “Like a hungry cat rubbing up to it’s boss for meat”. Noda she explains that being an American and being another race both fall into honoring your country wherever you came from. Kesaya E. Noda idea of what being an American means really relates to mine because in her essay she talks about being another race as well as being American and still keeping pride and honor of both countries. “I come from a people with a long memory and a distinctive grace.
