I, like other women especially mothers and the married, want to be able to have the right to have custody of their children. I want to be able to legally own or possess things of mine, like money. Your father owns the money I have and has custody of you legally. I can’t. These laws institutionalize discrimination because they are so they limit women in their freedom. Some laws were in favor of men, they have much of the power right now. This law can revolutionize our daily lives as women. As of right now, we’re legally not allowed to vote, have legal custody of our children (including you), or even own the money that I earned or inherited. If your father died, the money wouldn’t go to me unless in his will it would be given to me, his wife. Even if she was most caring and you trust her, the laws wouldn’t permit her to take care if you got hurt or you took them away. You would be in control, but know she would feel trapped. Like I am. Your father is most of the time good to me, but one time threatened to take you away for me. I had no power. With your vote, I would have more power in this nation where I and other women have to live in everyday. I deserve the right to vote as the men have. Our country is violating current laws by not accepting this 19th Amendment.

As you know, I have the right to have the freedom of speech and petitioning the government and right to be equal under the law. Those are the 1st and 14th Amendment I have.
