Wildlife organizations in support of hunting, such as the National Wildlife Federation claim that well-regulated and responsible hunting should be considered a form of wildlife management. (“Hunting Debate”) Hunting is a beneficial Activity that promotes sportsmanship, responsibility, and wildlife management. Ways to strictly regulate or ban hunting are becoming a more widespread debate in the U.S.. However, many Americans enjoy the recreational activity and do not want more regulations limiting one of their favorite pastimes. There are few other enjoyable activities that educate individuals of all ages on wildlife management and safety. Hunting promotes individuals to exercise sportsmanship while on the hunt. Anyone who enjoys hunting knows the principles of fair chase. “Fair chase is a word used to describe ethical hunting practices that conform to sportsmanlike standards and do not give the hunter an unfair advantage over the animals.”(“Lee, M.”). Unfair advantages meaning actions such as trapping deer for example, which is not allowed. Fair chase in terms of deer hunting means to get up early, have an attractant of some kind (corn, deer cane, ect.), and wait for the deer.
