Everyone has their own goals, and dreams in life. For some people, as little as graduating high school can be a big accomplishment for them, to others it may not seem as important. Some people spend their whole life trying to make as much money as they can because that is all they care about. For some reason people believe that you have to have money in order to be successful. According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, success means, “the fact of getting, or achieving wealth, respect, or fame.” I believe success should be determined by your own beliefs, and what you really want out of life, money shouldn’t measure your success. In today’s society, success is classified as fame or wealth. Carrie Underwood is a well-known country artist. She has worked her way up in the music industry to get where she is today. She has won several awards throughout her career from female …show more content…
Success can be measured by your own goals, whether they are short term or long term. Here are some thoughts from high school students on success, one student states, “It means to achieve something that benefits you and others in many ways.” (Success what does it mean to you?) Another one says, “I'm the only one that graduated high school in my family. That is a big SUCCESS for me and my family.” (Success what does it mean to you?) And another says, “The word success means a lot to me. It means achieving all my goals, graduating from high school, and college. Getting a well paying job in life and being able to support myself. Having my dream house and having a family.” (Success what does it mean to you?) As you can see everyone has different goals in life. Simply graduating high was a big accomplishment to that one student, because that was their goal. And to them they feel successful, because they’re already accomplishing more than their family. Everyone has a reason behind their

Success is a mountain, where those who attempt to climb it and give up, never reach the top. This concept can also be applied to high school, where countless teenagers cease to make an effort to better themselves. As these three articles, “The ‘mindset’ mindset: What we miss by focusing on kids’ attitudes” by Alfie Kohn, “Why Your Fear of Looking Stupid Is Making You Look Stupid” by Megan Gibson , and “You Can Grow Your Intelligence”, by Grow Your Brain, shows that success isn't just achieved by doing nothing, but instead by doing something to better yourself. Success is a difficult thing to achieve, it's not just earned through the effort of doing nothing, but is earned when you’re focused on learning and not getting ‘good grades’, and also if you're willingly to ask questions, and lastly if they are readily to put in the time to attempt to achieve it.
What is true meaning to be successful? In America, many people see success in earning good money and fulfilling their dreams, while many others defined happiness in their lives as a success. Everybody has dream to have opulent comfort of limonene, but it is not easy to chase for a high standard American dream and achieved it. There is more in life than earning money and being well-known. It is about being happy, proud, and secure about oneself.
What does success mean to me? To me success is knowing that I gave it my all in school and other hobbies outside of school. Also, another meaning is that I try the best I can and try my hardest. Also if I don’t make a high school program, so what, it would not be the end of the world, but it also can mean a new beginning of my journey. What is important to me?
Students’ success is a controversial issue. Every individual has different ideals for success. Student success is interdependent on four important attributes, knowing what success means to you more than effort, teamwork and competition. Most of the time these ideals don’t fit the paradigm of the student success needed by a school. The idea of success for students is if they get a passing grade.
Success is defined differently in different situations. For example, business professionals tend to believe that success is based upon the salary they make (Pearse, 1). Teachers, for example, look at success through the accomplishments of their students. While there are many different options to define success, in general, “success is getting what you want” (Pearse, 1). Everyone has goals that they want to accomplish. The ability to achieve those goals is what makes someone successful, despite the amount of money earned. Looking at success through the eyes of a college student, success could be to graduate or to get a specific job. While success isn’t determined by money, for some people, success can only achieved by obtaining wealth. Regardless of how an individual defines success, in order to reach goals and become as successful as one can possibly be, attending college is essential. This is why college graduates are more successful than high school
For some, happiness is all that matters. Happiness is achieved in many ways, and it doesn’t always involve money. There are many things that contribute to making a person feel happy and successful. One can feel successful without a lot of money at all. For example, feeling loved is something that makes everyone happy. Many believe that without love life is not thoroughly complete, thus never truly achieving success. Ones line of work can also affect how happy he is. Some feel that it is more important to enjoy work and get less money than it is to hate work and get paid more. Another factor in achieving psychological success is ones ability to enjoy what life gives him. There are many qualities of life that are overlooked. Everyone is dealt family and it is important to value that.
The diploma, a pristine ivory paper with your name written on it, that’ s rolled up with a ribbon tied perfectly, a piece of paper everyone thrives to achieve. Everyone is expected to own this paper and those who do not is classified as a “failure.” Society’s expected “success” requires a college degree; however college isn’t the best option for everyone because many profession doesn’t require it and everyone has a different definition of “success.” No one should be forced to go into this cookie cutter curriculum for success. People today view success as someone with ample amount of money that’s “living the life.”
What is success, really? To know how dreams lead us to success, we have to know what success is. However, the definition is different for everyone. For me, success is not only in the pure fact of whether or not you reach your dream. It is the pursuit of that dream; it is how you get there. It is the way you follow your dreams, and the way you improve your life in the wake of that dream. As for my dreams, I do not know if I will ever make it to them, but in my m...
Meaning of success has become confusing. We live in the world that tells us that it is important to be rich rather than be happy. We all know examples of people who are famous and rich, but are very unhappy. For example comedian Dave Chappelle had his own TV show and became a famous and a rich person. Yet underneath he was very unhappy; He was so unhappy that he had to stop his show because he had a nervous breakdown from the pressure of being
For some it might be difficult to think of someone successful they know; but for me it is simple, the most successful person I know is my mom. My mom has not always had it easy in fact, I’d say her life has been quite difficult, but she’s always found a way around things. My older sister, Katie, was diagnosed with bipolar and ADHD around the age of ten; most mothers may have given up, deciding that the situation at hand was too hard to handle, but mine never did. Instead, she stayed firm in her faith and stuck it out, getting Katie medicated and counseled on a low budget; while also
