As I reflect on how my work in early childhood education has affected my values and morality, I can truly say I see things in a different light. Until now, I did not realize that there was a comittee that established codes, ideals, and principles that all early childhood educators had to follow. Even though I don’t work in a school or center, I feel my small childcare business has changed since I began my school in this field. I have always taken in consideration the feeling of the children and families I provide care for. Establishing an open communication has been a very important part of my business. I have grown to discover that how I present myself to others and what I can offer makes a huge difference in how people evaluate me. The main thing I focus on is being honest with my families. I have never pretended to know the ins and outs about the education of children. With the many classes I have taken I am more confident in presenting myself, and what I have learned to make my business better. When families see that I take pride in myself makes a huge difference with the families I associate with every day. It is sad to say, but when we are faced with situations in our career or personal life our behavior is reflected by it. I feel it is very important that I can distinguish all situations between right and wrong. I was brought up in a very loving home. My parent’s showed me compassion, respect for others as well as myself, and how to incorporate religious views into my life.
