An activity that has changed my life is playing the sport of basketball. To most people, basketball is nothing more than a fun past time. It has provided me with a much richer experience. This team sport has introduced me to kids from different racial backgrounds and economic circumstances. A few of my teammates have not had the stable home life I've been blessed with. Getting to know them and their struggles has made me more aware of the different challenges we all face and also our similarities. Being involved in basketball has taught me to be grateful and humble, it has motivated me to utilize the opportunities I've been given to help people when I can and hopefully in a big way someday. I found Michael Jordan and his documentaries to be very enlightening and I love to watch videos of him play basketball because I wanted to be like him.
