We all must make sacrifices that benefit our lives to live with good salary earnings. Many believed that going to college is not worth it due to tuition cost. A higher education will lead benefit many individuals receiving a degree. First, with a degree different opportunity will come and go. Secondly, securing a job will be a lot easier with a four-year degree. Finally, increasing a salary is very important to live a successful life. High school students should get post-secondary education.

In addition, having a higher education will increase the chances of securing a job. Also, a four-year degree is also a key to enter a job that can offer promotions and increase salary. This relates to a point Robert T. Perry makes in his essay discussing why the economy needs more college graduates to improve our nation. Perry says, “Those left out of higher education would have fewer employment options than they do today. Low-wage, low-skills careers are disappearing rapidly, as manufacturing jobs head overseas and American companies are looking for ways to compete” (Perry). An advantage of having a higher education shows employers dedications and motivation, and individual has going the distance to earn their degree. Then, employers obviously will pay their higher skilled and educated workers more to keep their business strong. This compares to David Leonhart’s essay about the worth of college and the benefits, Leonhart states, “Americans with a four-year degree makes ninety-eight percent (98%) more an hour on average than people without a degree” (Leonhart). This is like a close friend of mine, that increased his pay from $16.25 to $25.50 after getting his four-year degree from the University of Missouri.
