I have had a great experience in high school after my first semester. I reunited with old friends that I have not seen since elementary school through sports and classes. So far, I have been doing academically well, and I have been working as hard as I can to keep my grades where I want them. I am ski racing for the high school and for New Hampshire. Ski racing here at Bradford was a great learning experience since I did not know what to expect and how I would fit into the team. In the beginning, I was somewhat skeptical of the captains and how I would do on the team. But after a few weeks of dryland training and skiing on snow, I discovered I would do just fine and the captains were very helpful; giving me rides back and forth from Bradford Ski Area. This year I ended up making the MIAA state championship as an individual, as well as four girls on the girls ski team, and I came in sixth place in slalom. The high school ski team was a great experience, even omitting my performance, because it was a true team setting near the end of the year; since we went to Harrisons Roast Beef, and Five Guys after races and had a banquet at the Andover Country Club to celebrate the season. Also, I have done well in New Hampshire, since I have qualified for the U16 USSA Eastern Championships, or Junior Olympics, at Sugarloaf as a first year U16 and a weekend skier, rather than a full time ski academy
