George and Page(2004) argue that a ‘global’ social problem should satisfy four criteria:

Firstly, the cause of the problem should be found in the global rather than nation process. There are many problems not only emerge in nation, but also appear among the world, such as environmental pollution, refugees, drug trafficking, human trafficking and so on.

Secondly, global social problems can spread across national borders despite efforts of sovereign states. Because of the development of internet and technology, it is very convenience for the people connect other among the word. Actually, the national governments are lack of manpower and ability to settle the global social problems. Such as drug trafficking, the Thailand trafficker will supple the drug for Chinese trafficker. Despite Chinese policemen catch the Chinese trafficker, it cannot solve the problem because the Thailand trafficker can cooperate with other Chinese people. Thus, the efforts of sovereign states is not enough . Moreover, the country have environmental pollution may not because of local factory and pollutant. Despite it is illegal behaviour, the trafficker can obtain great benefit via human trafficking which is immoral and cannibalistic behavior.
