Recommended: The importance of sport in character development

My Journey On The Football Field For years the green grass of my local football field was where I spent my days with friends and family. Standing alongside my cheerleaders as I screamed for my brother was my favorite pass time. Every moment that I stepped onto the white lines on the football field felt like walking on the path of maturity. I learned countless lessons that my teachers in school could not teach me through boring lectures and useless homework. Every day that I spent on the football field I leaned a little bit more about myself as the hours passed by me like water moves down the river. Many of the memories are when my friends and I would make silly little jokes in between cheers and practice. One particular memory that is an honorable one is when I won homecoming queen. That year I had been working hard because I wanted the praise from my mother and the coaches, but I mostly wanted to win at the competition that was soon arriving. Through my dedication and hard work, I had ended up winning homecoming queen for my division and I was extremely happy. A soft breeze had gone through the field as the crown was placed upon my head and I smelled the freshly cut roses that they had handed me. It was a wonderful experience that I will forever cherish. To this day I look at my crown for a reminder of what my hard work will bring me. Another memory that I fondly remember is the time that my niece tried to cheer with me. She had admired my dedication and the way I carried myself through each cheer move so much that she would stand behind the gate and try to copy my movements. On this particular day, the cheer president thought it was extremely cute what my niece was doing and decided to bring her in. My niece already had a tiny jersey that had my brother’s number on it and she walked over to me and my friends made a space right next to me and that's where she stayed. My niece spent the whole game right next to me and was cheering for me while we performed our half time
