The Godfather was a movie released in America in the year 1972. A combination of southern Italian dialects and English was used in this film. This movie was admired by many viewers because of its intense conversations between characters and the very dramatic, action packed scenes. The movie was directed by the very accomplished Francis Ford Coppola. He is a very well-known director that also produces and screen writes films. Although The Godfather is his most known work, Coppola has directed other films including, The Great Gatsby (1974), The Outsiders (1983), and Rip Van Winkle (1984). Sergio Leone was actually the first choice director that the movie studio, Paramount, wanted, but he declined in order to direct his own gangster opus. Peter On April 25, 1940, Pacino was born in East Harlem, New York City, NY. He was the only child of Italian immigrants, who separated when he was a toddler. During his teen years, he became increasingly interested in acting after he was accepted into a performing arts high school. At the age of 17, he dropped out of the rigorous school because of his falling grades. After his dropout he was still motivated and eager to make it onto the big screen. He started to attend Herbert Berghof Studio and soon landed parts in off-Broadway productions. Pacino started off on the stage, but soon after he started to appear on the big screen. He has appeared in many films, but his most popular are The Godfather (1972), Scarface (1983), and The Insider (1999). As he got older, he began to work behind the scenes for films including Salomé (2013) and Chinese Coffee (2000), in which he starred in. Even at the age of 75, Pacino refuses to stop doing what he loves to do. He has stated that he has “no desire to quit” acting just yet, as he feels there is “no difference” to how he works despite his advancing years. On March 26, 1940, Caan was born in the Bronx, New York. He majored in theatre at New York's Hofstra University. His education granted him to be casted for many roles in Broadway, which helped him advance his career. He then starred to enter the film world, with his debut movie Irma la Douce (1963). He has been in numerous movies, but his most known work is The Godfather. Caan was nominated an Oscar for his performance as Sonny Corleone in The Godfather. After a five year break, he made an implausible comeback with the film in features with Coppola's war drama Gardens of Stone (1987) and the sci-fi thriller Alien Nation (1988). During the 1980’s and 1990’s Caan’s career was a rollercoaster because of his personal life controversy. He currently has a net worth of 40 million, but he cannot afford to retire from Hollywood because of his expensive support for his estranged ex-wife.
