“PAPER MOON” The 1973 film Paper Moon dramatically depicts the Great Depression era in the Plains states of America. The artistic cinematography used throughout this film contributes to the overall historic feel. Shot in black and white with the period music, the stark settings help the viewer understand the personalities of the characters and their growing relationship with each other. Addie and Moses, the two main characters, take an emotional and physical journey together in order to survive their own desperate situations. Their evolving relationship and the Dustbowl setting keep the movie both accurate and interesting. For a nine-year-old girl, Addie is very adult. She discovered what Moses did to get money, and instead of turning him She Believed that was the right thing to do. I also agree with her decision that she should of stayed with Moses for several reasons. One reason is that through their past conning activity, they could make more money. With her playing a sweet innocent girl following her beloved "father", they could make a lot of money. Another reason for her making the right decision is that she needs someone she can trust. I can conclude that she trusts mosses after he wrestled the hill Billy to trade cars to avoid the cops. Addie trusted his actions to fight for and was right to because he kick the lights out of the hill Billy. On their adventures, Addie and Moses trust can go a long way with their con business. My third and final reason that Addie made the right decision was because Moses is her real father. i believe that Moses is her father just not because of her and him having the same jaw, but the way they act. Both have the way of sly talking t weave their ways out of situation or to talk someone into a con. He is also her father because for her to go back and be his moses, she would have to determine that Moses is in fact her father, biologically or not. Moses is her father for being with her and teaching her through life, he though he may not be her father. These are reason why Addie made the right decision to stay with
