One thing that hasn't really changed much is the struggle for women to have equality to men. Although women's rights have come a long way, we are still far from having the same rights as men. Inequalities between men and women are most popularly known in the work place, at home, and especially in athletics. The women of 776 B.C decided to organize the Games of Hera, which was made out of frustration by women because of how women were not allowed to part take in the first Olympic games. Women in this film aren’t suppose to play rough sports but are suppose to participate in the debutante and wear fancy dresses, where they will act properly and eat politely. While the men are depicted in this movie as the superior athletes who are rude and clueless about relationships. As the movies plot unravels we that when viola is pretending to be her brother she is expected to “ not play soccer as well as the boys” and par take in debutante related activities. When she poses as her brother Sebastian, she is expected to speak in a lower voice, walk “like a boy”, talk about girls and excel in athletics. When Sebastian comes homes early from London, violas plans slowly starts to turn into turmoil. As the big rivalry games begins, Viola displays her true colors by showing the entire stadium who she really is, and how as a girl she can compete just as well as the boys. Viola like many female athletes of this day and age rose of above, and proved all the sexist men who told her she couldn’t
