Are people in today's society losing social skills? Yes in today's society many people are losing social skills. Social skills are important because people will not always know what's going on if they do not communicate. In the novel, Fahrenheit 451, Mildred was always paying attention to the parlor walls and never really talked to anyone. She always communicated with the parlor walls which is technology and did not communicate with Montag which is her husband. People are losing social skills due to using too much technology because people feel that they need the newest smart phone and when they get it they are always on it, people are always playing video games, and all of the social media is devouring today's society.
