The United State starder should not be a six hour workday. Most company jobs today are at least 8 hours minium or longer. A workday that is only 6 hours daily you earn less money and benifits. You will also end up achieving less at work then you would working a 8 hour day of work. During the Industrail Revolution workers work 11-12 hours a day so we came along way from then but to choose between 6 or 8 hours workday for me it would be 8 hours. In the 1914 Herney Ford changed workdays to 8 hours on his assembly line and double workers pay. Ford found his profits had doubled so it had worked out for the company and the workers. This is the time when the 8 hours per day came into play for workers.
