Today, the most effective system of national government is one based upon the ideas of Liberal Democracy. To what extent is this statement accurate?

Introduction:

The statement which Liberal Democracy is the most effective system of national government is accurate to an extent. This can be shown by examining Liberal Democracy, Socialism, Fascism, Authoritarianism and Theocracy.

Liberal Democracy is a form of government which individual rights and freedom are officially recognised and protected. Liberal Democracy is based on 3 main principles, belief in the individual, belief in reason and progress. Liberal Democracies ideologies are, the right to life and personal security, freedom from slavery, freedom of movement,
Fascist believe in seven things, usurpation, nationalism, militarism, father figure, mass appeal, government surveillance and persecution. An advantage of fascism is that their economies is good at wholly transforming societies to conform to the planner's vision. They have many of the same advantages of any centrally-planned economies. It can mobilise economic resources on a large scale. It executes massive projects and creates industrial power. For example, Russia's centrally-planned economy built up the military might to defeat the Nazis. It then quickly rebuilt its economy after World War II. A disadvantage of fascism is it only aids those who align with the national values. They may use their power to rig the system and create additional barriers to entry. This includes laws, educational attainment and capital. In the long term, this can limit diversity and the innovation it creates. Fascism ignores external costs, such as pollution. This makes goods cheaper and more accessible. It also depletes natural resources and lowers the quality of life in the affected areas. Fascism doesn’t care for the people in any way instead all resources go to expanding and power to be
This kind of government uses military threats, suppression of a free press, and disinformation to manage the people over whom it rules. An advantage of authoritarianism is a faster law making process, with only a few people to come up with laws and decide whether bills are to be passed or not, decisions will be faster and the people can benefit from these laws as soon as possible. Another advantage of fascism is with the government having central power, it can impose on the prices of commodities being sold by manufacturers to consumers. Since a central government dictates on what products and services are to be offered as well as the number of products to be manufactured or sold in the market, business owners will not be able to monopolise the industry. A disadvantage of fascism is having no freedom of speech as well as individual and political freedom. Another disadvantage is the potential abuse of power since decisions and control of the nation are under the discretion of a single power, there is a tendency for the leader to be greedy for power and eventually abuse this for self-gratification. Authoritarianism isn’t the most effective form of government being the opposite to Democracy. It doesn’t let the people get a say and takes away their rights and
