“We are no longer worried that children are missing school because of video games, though. We are worried that they are murdering their classmates because of video games.”-(Tom Bissell). Video games are teaching kids about violence and other things. Many video games teach kids how to kill other people even if it is animated especially in "M" rated games. Video games are bad for little children.
For example, there are many symptoms to being addicted to video games. Preoccupation, downplaying computer use, lack of control, loss of time, negative impact on other areas of life, hiding from negative or uncomfortable feelings or situations, defensiveness, misuse of money, and mixed feelings are some of the symptoms of addiction ("Video Game Addiction"). Children are more liable to become addicted to video games played online with other people than regular games. Many children who are suffering from addiction are more likely not to have that many friends because they rely on online interaction to make virtual friends ("Video Game Addiction).
Another reason that video games are bad for children is because it can cause injuries towards the person physically as well as mentally. It can cause auditory hallucinations, enuresis, encopresis, wrist pain, neck pain, elbow pain, tenosynovitis, hand arm vibration syndrome, repetitive strain injuries, peripheral neuropathy, and even obesity (NCBI. US. National Library of Medicine). Tests have shown that as you get older the more video games you play the less ability you have to multitask while playing games.
