What is a dolphin? A dolphin is an aquatic mammal. There are a various amount of species of dolphins,who eat a large variety of food,and can live in several different environments.
There are thirty-two different species of oceanic dolphins and five different species of river dolphins. River dolphins live in Ganges River, Chinese River, Amazon River, and the Indus River ("Dolphins." -and-more.com). There are only four species of river dolphin alive because one is extinct. These dolphins don't only live in rivers, they also live in lakes and estuaries. Some of the river dolphins are the Pink River dolphin, Indus River dolphin, and the Baiji dolphin (www.a-z-animals.com).
Most dolphins are very intelligent(one of the reasons they are in many zoo shows).They are curious, and form strong bonds with their pod(a group of dolphins)and are known to have helped humans in many different circumstances.
