In the fictional story, “ Desiree’s Baby “, written by Kate Chopin. The story opens with Madam Valmonde; as a small baby she was found abandoned by Monsieur Valmonde outside the gates of his estate. 18 years later a man Armand fell in love with Desiree, but as the time went by they had a baby, although Armand’s attitude was happy at first it soon changed as the baby turned 3 months old, it became really negative. The text displays the downfall between Armand and Desiree’s marriage, because of the baby. In the beginning, Armand falls for Desiree, but after their marriage and having their baby, Armands attitude suddenly changes torwards her and the baby. The fact that Armand had this letter in his possession means that he knew for some time the truth of his heritage. However, to keep from harming his name, he led Desiree to believe that she was the black parent, which led to her untimely demise.
