Brian Sussman and Mark Hendrickson both deny global warming is due to the fact that human are polluting the earth with emissions and other waste products. They both agree that the climate around the globe is changing, but they both say that it is a natural occurrence. Mark Hendrickson and Brian Sussman both made great arguments against manmade global warming, but I am still a little undecided as to which side of the fence I am standing on. Beginning with Mark Hendrickson’s argument, he recognizes that the climate is changing. He wrote in his article “Climate Change-Hoax or Crime of the Century” that the Earth has emerged from a Little Ice Age not that long ago, and it would be worrisome if the climate around the globe was not warming up. The science and data that has been recorded supporting this argument does agree with this argument. He also stated that it is beneficial, since human thrive in warmer climate. Mark also writes that the recent recorded temperatures may be flawed. He says due to the urban heat-island effect the temperature sensors that are near asphalt parking lots are not accurate. This may be true, but are the scientists analyzing and reporting the global warming data only emphasizing the urban heat-island effect? Or are they averaging it all out around the globe? The most accurate measures of temperature come from satellites. One satellite image shows that the Urban Heat Effect has no significant influence on global temperature trends. The NASA/GISS data showed the biggest change in global temperature from 1885 to 2006 happened in Russia, Alaska, Northern Canada and Greenland, where no major urban growth has occurred. Scientists are able to measure it, and have found a correlation between higher levels of CO2 and higher temperatures. I do believe that global warming is happening. The data that I have seen does suggest that there is a natural cause to global warming. There is also data I have seen that also supports the human cause of global warming. The amount of CO2 and other greenhouse gases humans are propelling into the atmosphere and into our oceans is un-natural. The balance is thrown off because of our use of fossil fuels and deforestation. It does not make sense to me for people to defend fossil fuels and delay new green alternatives, knowing they will run out in the future. Hendrickson and Sussman both seem to have cherry picked their facts they presented, making global warming seem like a hoax, but I don’t buy their arguments.
For years to come there will always be a speculation on whether the climate change has really taken place or not. Many believe that large companies launched this topic in order to benefit from it in profit, as there are also those who are convinced that this are consequences that have emerged from human mistakes in understanding the environment. As humans are struggling to trust one another whether it is just a big conspiracy or not or environment changing itself, we are slowly starting to feel the effects of climate change. Because of the gasses (CO2) that are in the air, atmosphere is getting warmer, thereby triggering the Greenhouse effect. Almost 70% of emitted gasses in air are CO2, which leads us to believe that this is the main cause of Global Warming. Since it is billions and billions of metric tons per year that are being released in air, many scientists conclude that temperature will most likely be more higher in twenty years from now, than it was in near past.
Global warming is a scientific, political, and controversial topic. Some believe it is catastrophic, a slow moving killer hiding in the shadows. Others do not even think twice about it as they race by in a Hummer. Global warming is the gradual increase of temperature throughout different climates. It is caused by the greenhouse gas effect in which greenhouse gases, like methane and carbon dioxide, reflect sunlight back and forth. This reflected ultraviolet light bounces between the earth and the ozone layer and becomes trapped, resulting in a gradual rise of temperature. Global temperatures have noticeably been rising since the mid 1800’s.The average temperature has increased by 0.6 ± 0.2°C since 1860 according to (John Sweeney, 2003)with accelerated warming apparent in the latter decades of the 20th century. The legitimacy of global warming had long been debated, however in a report by (IPCC, 2007) it states that warming of the climate system is unequivocal, as is now evident from observations of increases in global average air and ocean temperatures, widespread melting of snow and ice and rising global average sea level. Simulations on models such as EC-Earth provide us with predictions for future climate change. Depending on levels of emissions an increase of 1 to 5.5 degrees celsius is expected in average global temperatures by 2100.
The two articles, As the World Burns and Why Bother, both discuss the challenges of what individuals faced with trying to help stop global warming. In Why Bother, the author explains why one individual would not want to bother changing the climate change, if the entire universe is not going to change as well. However, in As the World Burns, one of the little girls is trying to persuade her friend to go greenhouse friendly but the friend doesn’t by any of what her friend is trying to tell her. The non- environmental friend breaks it down to her “tree lover” friend that if everyone in the United States did everything on the global warming list, that there would still be a global warming issue in the world. Both articles argue that there is a crisis with global warming; however they can’t fix the problem if everyone doesn’t help to fix it. At the turn of the 20th century, there has been rising issues about climate change, arguing that global warming and climate change is an issue worsened by the human race. Change in climate is a natural process in which changes from season to season and even fluxuates over thousands of years. Over the time frame of the last 650,000 years there has been seven cycles of glacial advance and retreat (Global Climate Change). It could be argued that climate change is a natural process and the Earth is suppose to change its temperature from hot to cold. Yes, that is true. Ever since the advent of weather observation and prediction technology in the past 150 years, science has created a consensus that the earth is getting warmer, and that human influence is to blame. Some even blame this change, known as global warming, for bouts of extreme weather including cyclonic storms, droughts, wildfires, and heat waves. These scientists (and much of the public) believe that our influence is the problem, as our emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasses, the product of the usage of our fuels, are polluting the atmosphere and trapping energy from the sun within. However, a minority group, scientists and public skeptics alike, believe this warming trend is merely a coincidence with the earth’s naturally cyclical climate, and that the activists are overstating something they know little about. Many even agree that if the prospect of our influence were to be true, the effects are not at all that bad, unlike what it is hyped to be. Thus, global warming has become a debatable theory. For a majority of people, it isn’t new news that the Earth’s climate is changing and increasingly getting warmer. For quite some time now, people have been arguing about what the actual causes are and what role humans have played in the current condition of the earth. A good bit of people seem to be in agreement that due to the actions of humans, the earth’s climate is increasingly getting worse and that if things don’t change, than everyone living on earth will be facing the consequences. However, this is not entirely true. The fault of climate change does not fall solely on the shoulders of mankind, but on the earth as well.

Climate change has been nothing, but controversial in the last fifty years. Climate change is a change in the average weather of a region or city. Scientists have opted to use the term "climate change" instead of global warming because as the Earth's average temperature changes, winds and ocean currents move heat around the globe in ways that can cool some areas, as well as warm others. There is an ongoing dispute about the effects of humans on the global climate and about what policies should be implemented to avoid possible undesirable effects of climate change. Ninety-seven percent of published scientific research concluded that climate change is real, problematic for the planet, and has been exacerbated by human activity. But what about the three percent that contradicts that?
Before I truly get started, I want to say that I’m not going to take the “global warming is a lie” stance. A harsh disbelief in something there is no true evidence about is just as daft as saying that it exists without any precedence.

This is the case for the conclusions that the Earth System is warming and that much of this warming is very likely due to human activities.” This suggests that there is a strong body of evidence from all around the world including record temperatures, rising sea levels, retreating glaciers and extreme weather events showing that climate change is occurring and it is mostly caused by human activities. According to Metz, “July 2012 marked the hottest month in U.S history, and drought expanded to cover 63% of the contiguous U.S. The average temperature was 25.33 degrees Celsius, 1.8 degrees about the 20th-century average, making the hottest 12-month period the nation had endured in 117 years of record-keeping.” This suggests that these record-breaking temperatures are the result of global warming. Furthermore, this analysis must take place amidst serious gaps in the existing research and technology concerning the developing climatic conditions. For these reasons, global warming stands as one of the most daunting policy issues facing our world today. This is compounded by the debate over the very existence of climate change. While countless sources of empirical evidence testify to the very real presence of climate change the world over, considerable denial of the phenomenon still exists. The argument has been made that evidence of climate change is a gross overstatement, or in some cases, a complete fabrication.
Imagine a world under 2 feet of water and in total chaos. Then throw in almost biblical floods, Fissures in the earth that can be seen from space, and Tornadoes that could uplift even the biggest buildings. This is what Al Gore wants you to think. These statements are completely and utterly false. These accusations upon the people of the U.S. are not true and must be silenced.

The people that say that is isn't real need to realize, the yes there are weather patterns, but when the patterns get to the warm parts of the pattern, they are gonna be warmer than they ever were before. Yes there will be stretches of cold weather but it wont ever be as cold or as long as it was before. So people need to realize, whether they like it or not, global warming is real.
