Different parts of the globe express dancing in their own way, which makes it very fascinating and unique. After watching the dance video provided, it put a smile on my face. I loved how it took place in so many diverse parts of the world. Filming this video in so many different areas enabled me and the viewers to see and be exposed to the different cultures. However, it made me realized that the smiles were the same throughout despite the differences in culture.
At first I thought it was odd and unnecessary when it started with Matt dancing goofy by himself. It reminded me of those funny videos where the person would randomly break out a dance in the middle of a crowded and public area, where it’s least expected and everyone would either have an annoyed or amused expression. The choreography was silly and simple, but powerful enough to arouse excitement amongst different individuals. Because it was so simple to do, it attracted many spectators and drew them in willingly. I have danced before for Lunar New Year Festivals at temples. It was fan and umbrella dancing with a mixed of modern and traditional choreography. I did it more as an obligation rather than for myself so I’ll admit that I don’t dance at all. I’m not a good dancer, therefore, I get insecure easily and this causes me to avoid dancing all together. I’ve heard dancing is a good stress reliever and also a fun and engaging physical activity so maybe I’ll try to overcome my insecurities little by little to dance. My all time favorite boy group is BTS, a korean pop group who delivers alluring and impressive choreographies in every one of their releases in my opinion. Their choreographies were the first thing that drew me in and I enjoy them everytime I watch their live performances.
