Did you know that 52 percent of young people have reported that they’ve been cyberbullied (“Cyberbullying Statistics”)? I chose to research the topic cyberbullying because it is a very serious problem in this world and it goes on almost everywhere. I have prepared this speech by finding helpful sources and learning important knowledge about cyberbullying. People should care about stopping cyberbullying because even though it’s just over the internet, it can do a lot of damage to a person. It needs to be stopped before things get worse. Before another child gets depression, or before a different child can’t sleep at night because they’re too busy thinking about what another person said on the internet. Or before another innocent person dies because of cyberbullying. Today I have told you why cyberbullying needs to be stopped. First I told you what cyberbullying is and where it all started. Second, I told you where cyberbullying occurs and the harms of cyberbullying. Finally, I told you how to help someone who is being cyberbullied. So just remember the next time you’re thinking about saying something mean to another person on the internet think about how much damage you’ll do to that person, even if you don’t think it’s that harsh. Cyberbullying does not do any good in this world. It does not positively affect anyone, not even the bully. You may be in a situation where someone else is getting cyberbullied but everyone just ignores it and moves on. Lots of people may think the situation is funny, but in reality it’s just sad. The world would be a better place without cyberbullying, so instead of ignoring it next time, rise up and say
