Creative Writing: Serial Killers

"Last night, Travis was found dead in his studio. The only clue the police has found so far is that the victim was stabbed with his palette knife 3 times at the rib cage, near the heart. In the morning, the detectives went out searching his studio ordinarily came across another famous painter who, conveniently, was their #1 witness by the name, Sully Rogan. They will have a meeting with him first thing in the morning."
Is that your first suspect?
Yup.
Ok. Let's see what he has to say about you-
"Well, sir, I will tell you what I saw. My dog and I were taking a walk past Travis's studio. What we detected can only be described as time itself cracking open and crying out!"
I just noticed how his paintings are always red and grey. Is that supposed to mean anything?

Uh, I have no memory of much else. I'll tell you what they say though, a murders beneficial fuel is the creative mind!"
My second suspect is my wife, Sylvia. We did have a small fight before I was murdered. When she is emotionally damaged, she would always draw pastel. It's normal. I bet you she will be drawing in pastel while she speaks.
"Travis was so creative, he had so much to give to the world."
I told you she'll be drawing with pastel.
That doesn't matter now, we need to continue the mystery.
"We had just gotten into a fight, but it was foolish. I was trying to make it up to him by making his portraits of our love story in pastel... Funny, now he'll eventually gain some notoriety. Excuse me... I have to go."
That was strange. She was distraught, but she also said something about our argument.
