Constructive Rest Analysis

Though out this semester, the essay "Batson, Somatic Approaches to Training Attention" and the constructive rest is the assignment that I want to discuss about the most. This essay has its significant meaning as being an introduction to mental rehearsal. Also it discusses the fundamental uses of mental imagery patterns. It is surprising that people could use this psychological treatment to recover from injuries. I used to think writing a long essay could be a struggle process. However, it is enlightening for me to find that how human's brain cannot perform singularly with the interpretation from vocal instructions. What's more, I have practiced constructive rest on myself and feeling quite different with my body fully relaxed before go to sleep, which I will list more detailed thoughts in the end of the reflection.

Following the reading material, I did it once before bedtime. Comparing this activity to my usual stretch movement before sleep, I would like to list two benefits. Firstly, constructive rest ease my mind and keep it in peace. The whole process is very relax, thus it not only loosed the tight muscle, but also calm my uptight mind from diverse thoughts. I felt so quiet, even can hear my heartbeats. Secondly, the constructive rest ease my back more than the stretch could do. No matter sitting or standing, people place their back (spine) in an upright pose all day. The only time for it to become loosen would be the time we lay on the bed. However, during the night I am unaware of changing my sleeping position. So I think my spine doesn't really relaxed enough. It is truly comfortable after laying my full back on the ground for 15 minutes. Personally, I will try more section of constructive rest and find out more advantage it can bring to my
