In the epics Thor, The Song of Roland and The Aeneid they have different main points but all have a main hero that individuals can relate to in everyday life. Epics are still relevant in movies and books because they give people a break from their lives and they get to relax. For those couple of minutes, they are reading that book or for those two hours they are watching that movie people are transported into their imagination where everything is the way they want it in their eyes. The movie Thor is a modern epic and it shows how many things happens in the movie and how people can see it and hear it. Between all three of these epics they all have a couple things in common. In Aeneid, the main character Aeneas was forced out by the greeks in battle, “Greeks had secured the city gates. No help or hope of help existed. So I resigned myself, picked up my father and turned my toward the mountain range” he found out that he wasn’t as good as he thought he was and he was defeated so he respected that and left. There's always a conflict in Thor, for example he was being too big headed and wanted to kill all of the frost giants by himself but he didn’t realize that they didn’t get to Asgard by themselves. Even though his brother was the one that was back stabbed him the whole time he loved his brother so much he forgave him. That's almost the same plot for every epic but the difference was that Thor was a movie and you could see the lighting and all the magical stuff happening that we don’t see everyday.The biggest difference is that people now of days have the option of watching to movie or reading the book most people would rather
