Adolf Hitler vs Joseph Stalin Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin were both dictators seeking to gain power. Facing many hardships during childhood, they struggle to make a living. As a young child Hitler wanted to pursue art as a career, his father who was known as an alcoholic disapproved and would abuse Hitler emotionally. During the years his siblings encountered death, he then isolated himself from everyone else. Hitler took interest in German nationalism, which later on will encourage the way he lived life. Joseph Stalin was physically abused by his alcoholic father constantly, as a child he developed smallpox leaving permanent scars on his face.
