Abstract :
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is a complicated disease that classified as a dangerous one. The common symptom of this disease is the tiredness or exhaustion that stays in the body for at least six months. The cause of CFS is not clear yet, but viruses, abnormalities in the immune system, and hormonal imbalance might cause CFS. The Diagnosis process is not based on a certain test that done in the lab then the result can be taken directly, but it based on tracking some diagnostic criteria which are severe fatigue, reduction In the activity levels, and some symptoms of CFS like sore throat and sleep disorder. The treatment is also mysterious until now, but the treatment will be easier by treating its cause if the doctor knows the cause of

World Health Organization (WHO) classifies it as a dangerous disease and its main cause is unknown yet (2). This disease can hit all people but the chance of elderly people is higher than young. Women have the large percentage than men of being infected by this disease. Many doctors defined CFS by saying "it is a disorder characterized by a state of chronic fatigue that persists for more than six months, has no clear cause, and is accompanied by cognitive difficulties." (3). Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is dangerous and it has been termed as a syndrome because it is a combination or overlapping of many disorders together such as a headache, tired, and sleep disorder. It can be diagnosed by noticing the severe fatigue which is a continues tired that cannot get better even in the rest time. This tiredness should stay in the patient's body for six months at least to consider it as CFS condition. This disease has the ability to affect the person's life in a bad way. For example, it can prohibit the patient from running in his normal life and doing his tasks and work. There is no single …show more content…
CFS is a complicated disease as it doesn’t have any treatment (11). This kind of diseases is usually treated by cure their causes. However, there are some strategies that might treat the symptoms or reduce the pain. Eating a healthy food that riches of fibers, starch, and omega three, which is present in fish and oils is a good way to treat CFS (12). All these food can support the immune system and fight the pain. Doing exercise is also an important technique in treat CFS because many studies proved that patients who are doing exercise regularly have a good day function and less tired than those who don’t do (13). It is also important for the patients to manage their time between resting, activities, and sleep. Many studies have also said that patients with CFS should control their reaction and stay active as much as they can (14). If these strategies don’t improve the patient condition, especially in the severe one, the patient should ask his doctor about joining clinical
Another weakness in the experimental design was that the reliability of the experiment was very low. As each test subject was only tested against each amount of prior exercise once, the impact of random errors is likely very large, which can be seen by the spread of the data on the graph. Although, this was attempted to be rectified by averaging the results of all four test subjects, it does not improve reliability too much. Conclusion: The results of this investigation indicated that a relationship between the amount of prior exercise and muscle fatigue does exist, however the results are also not conclusive enough to speculate on what the relationship is. This means that the hypothesis “If the amount of time spent performing vigorous exercise prior to the set of repetitions increases, then the physical performance (number of repetitions) will decrease” cannot be supported or rejected due to the inconclusive data.
In spite of the fact that there is no cure for cystic fibrosis, treatment can ease symptoms and decrease complications. Other forms of treatment include, chest physical therapy (CPT) used to loosen mucus up to four times each day. Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) is another treatment physician’s recommend. PR is utilized to enhance lung capacity and general prosperity.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or COPD is a group of progressive lung diseases that block airflow and make it hard to breathe. Emphysema and chronic bronchitis are the most common types of COPD (Ignatavicius & Workman, 2016, p 557). Primary symptoms include coughing, mucus, chest pain, shortness of breath, and wheezing (Ignatavicius & Workman, 2016, p.557). COPD develops slowly and worsens over time if not treated during early stages. The disease has no cure, but medication and disease management can slow its progress and make one feel better (NIH, 2013)
Along with the problems of chronic illnesses themselves, many other problems may come. Treatments and medications are just the beginning of things when it comes to problems with illnesses. With cystic fibrosis, you start out with a high number of medications and treatments to begin with. The older you get and the worse your condition gets, the more you take. (“Psychological impact,” n.d.) Many struggles come along with taking these medications and treatments. When children are first diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, they are typically very young. From the beginning, there are many medications and treatments that needed to be taken and done. Sometimes, trying to get children to take medications and treatments is like pulling teeth. The medications for cystic fibrosis are extremely important. If cystic fibrosis patients miss medica...
Inadequate rest which results in fatigue has major implications on the health and safety of registered nurses and can compromise patient care. Nurses often work three to four 12 hour shift a week without taking any breaks while on duty. They often have difficult workloads and challenges which can take a toll and impact patient care. I will be taking a look at nurse fatigue and the impact it has on the nurse’s wellbeing, work, and patient care.
Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS) is a musculoskeletal illness (which causes chronic pain) and a chronic fatigue disorder. It can also change sleep patterns and cause the following: digestive disorders, chronic headaches, painful menstrual periods, temperature sensitivity, morning stiffness, numbness or tingling of extremities, and even cognitive memory problems. The name fibromyalgia comes from "fibro" in Latin meaning tissue, "my" in Greek meaning muscle, and "algia" (also Greek) meaning pain.(source 5)
According to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA, 2009) fatigue is a subjective feeling of tiredness which in respect distorts one’s ability to concentrate on a particular task and the task often seems difficult even though the one performing the task may be an expert in the same field. Jackson (2006) adds on to say that fatigue itself is a condition that reflects inadequate rest combined with a myriad of symptoms that are closely associated with displaced, interrupted or and disturbed biologic...
... gastrointestinal tract, causing stomach cramps that are consistent. Sleep disturbances or lack of good sleep, usually caused by some form of sleep apnea or restless leg syndrome (RLS) that does not allow the body to completely relax and fall into an uninterrupted deep sleep. Temperature sensitivity, when it’s warm, it feels too hot for them or vise versa for cold or cooler weather. It affects Sensitivity to loud noises or bright lights, limiting their ability to be in a noisy environment like a restaurant or even drive a vehicle at night. Cognitive issues with thinking and memory, such as concentration or disorganized thinking. It also causes the inability to stay focused and cognitive recognition, such as seeing a pen on the counter but not being able to say the word pen. This is very common with fibromyalgia and is often called “fibro fog” (Huffington Post).
It is important to know what the signs of fatigue are so that nurses can easily identify the problem as early as possible. In most...

Narcolepsy often remains undiagnosed or misdiagnosed for several years. This may occur because physicians do not consider the diagnosis of narcolepsy frequently enough. They may think of narcolepsy only in people who have the main symptom of excessive daytime sleepiness. Narcolepsy may not be considered in the evaluation of patients who come to doctors complaining of fatigue, tiredness, or problems with concentration, attention, memory, and performance, and other illnesses (seizures, mental illness, etc
In today’s busy lifestyle, human being is so busy that he does not get time to sleep properly. And that’s why so many diseases encircle him.
Cystic fibrosis, also known as CF, affects over 30,000 children and adults world-wide. CF is a disease in the lungs and digestive system and is still incurable today. It is a disease that causes thick, abnormal mucus in the lungs, nasal polyps, fatigue, and can also damage organs in a person’s body. According to www.cff.org/aboutcf, over 70% of CF patients are diagnosed at two years of age. Cystic fibrosis is one of the most life-threatening diseases in the United States and is very common amongst chronic diseases. Cystic fibrosis is most commonly diagnosed in young children and sometimes adults.
Almost everyone seem to suffer from not being able to get enough sleep at some time in their life. If you are always tired then that means that you’re not getting enough sleep. As we all know, inadequate sleep which is referred to as insomnia. Insomnia is basically one of the many sleeping disorders that some people may have and is one of the most common sleep disorder. There are many different effects of insomnia which includes some may become less productive, less ambitious, have a poor performance at school, work, or their everyday life tasks. Insomnia is not an illness but it is a symptom which can typically last no more than maybe a few days or it could be long term for some people. Who gets insomnia? According to Bayer (2001) “Approximately 36 out of every 100 Americans have reported experiencing this symptom [insomnia]. However, only 5 out of every 100 Americans consider the problem severe enough to seek medical help” (p. 22).
Chronic illness or chronic condition is a long lasting or persistent disease or condition in a person’s health. A chronic illness can affect anyone’s life at any time. A person’s life can be affected greatly in many ways by a chronic illness. A person may be affected physically, their independence may be taken away, they may feel tired and/or in pain due to a chronic illness they may be suffering from. Financial problems may occur due to the high medical costs treating the chronic illness, someone could lose their, job, their appearance may be affected, and a person may experience confusion. If a chronic illness unexpectedly approaches someone’s life, a person may feel overwhelmingly confused. This confusion may come, because they don’t understand why they now have this illness. This confusion is primarily seen in children. Since chronic illness affects lives so greatly, a person may start to feel anger, stress, or anxiety because of the interruption of the chronic illness in a person’s life.
