1. Briefly describe the cookie production process This process involves the business obtaining orders from distributors such us supermarkets and local bakery stores. The amount of ingredients are calculated by the person who is in control of mixing and the person enters the information into the computer to calculate the amount of ingredients needed. After putting the amount, the ingredients are guided to giant mixing machines. Then the cookies are dropped onto a conveyor belt and sent into the longer ovens purchased to increase productivity as well as some cookies being cut in an angle, saves space so that productivity is increased. What factors cause the company to carry minimal amounts of certain inventories? What Benefits result from this policy? Because they made the cookies as the providers request it in a daily basis. They have cookies that are healthy and they don’t use preservative. The advantage of this policy is that the company is not wasteful. Since the company does no use preservatives added to the cookies to reserve shelf life, the company should not face the issue of cookies going bad condition because they make cookies at the amount that they are ordered. This reduce the company losing money. 5. As a consumer, what things do you consider in judging the quality of cookies you buy in a Supermarket? Healthy ingredients is definitely a big factor in the quality of cookies. As a consumer, the first that I checked is the ingredient, price and the expiration date. 6. What advantages and what limitations stem from the company's not using preservatives in Cookies? One of the advantages of not using preservatives in cookies is that the cookies are healthier and often times taste better.
