The main concern of new parents is what car seat is right for their newborn baby. Not only do they have to decide what car seat is right for them they have to make the more important decision which is if they should go rear facing or forward facing. In 2008, research was done to provide the information that kids under the age of two are 75% less likely to become injured in a rear facing car seat. Rear facing and forward facing seats have pros and cons depending on the severity and type of crash it is involve in . A rear facing can protect the child better in side impact crashes. During crashes the babies body is completely harnessed in so there is no dangerous movement made to pull the neck in the wrong way. Rear facing also has cons like their legs can be squished against the seat and cause an uncomfortable car experience. If there is a rear collision they could potentially be ejected from the car. Rear facing also can cause their legs to be squished against the seat.
During side impact crashes, cars can potentially flip. Side impact crashes are said to be the most dangerous type of car crash. The rear facing seat is the best option during this type of crash. If the car flips the sides of the seats are better equipped to harness the child in the seat. The seat is able to make pivoting motions because of the attachments to keep the child in a straight line. Keeping them in a straight line reduces the risk of injuries especially in the spinal cord.By having their back straight it won't bend or come close to snapping. A rear facing car seat protects the child by using a 5- point safety harness which is a system of hooks even used for race car drivers, and flight pilots. This allows the child to stay In the seat without them fal...

It is a 2-in-1 convertible car seat which keeps the child safe and comfortable. The seat can be used in a rear facing position for weight 14-40 pounds and for forward facing it is having capacity of 22-85 pounds. It is having a very superior side impact protection to protect from any kind of collision.
“August 2000, our family of six was on the way to a wedding. It was a rainy day, and Gregg was not familiar with the area. The car hit standing water in the high-way, and started hydro-planing. Greg lost control of the car. Then, the car went backwards down into a ditch and started sliding on its wheels sideways. After sliding for 100 feet or so, the car flipped, at least once. After flipping, the car came to rest on its wheels, and the passenger window broke out.
Human bodies are very fragile and the effect of a collision can be very harmful. The technologies implemented to reduce the effect of a collision, generally work by increasing the length of time over which the collision happens and by reducing the energy impacted on the person. Driving is one of the areas where collisions have a large effect on human lives and so will be focused on in this essay. The main aim of the safety features is to save lives of the passenger so this is the criteria. In order to reduce the effects of a collision, cars have been; designed to have a crumple zone and crumpling components, fitted with seatbelts and fitted with air bags.
Often many parents struggle with what car seat to buy their child. Picking the right car seat for your child is very important, but one of the most important things about the child’s car seat is that it is installed properly. Many parents, or caregivers do not take the time out to make sure that their child’s car seat is put into the car correctly, or that the child is properly buckled in correctly. So, parents and/or caregivers, before putting a child into their seats, take the time out to make sure that their car seats are properly installed and that they fit properly in their car seats. First off, it does not matter what car seat you have it is the installation that is important.
When it comes to cars, there are plenty of safety features incorporated by manufactures to ensure a smooth and safe ride. Some of these features seat belts, airbags, and antilock brakes. Nowadays, there have been great improvements to technology within cars to aid in the avoidance of collisions altogether. Examples of these technologies include blind spot detection, backup cameras, 360-degree cameras, and autonomous driving. Many of these newer safety features are there to avoid collisions. However, whenever a collision does occur, there is not much there to protect passengers in the rear of the car. Looking into this, there is evidence that shows that rear passengers do obtain injuries in collisions and pose the threat of contributing to others injuries. So, why are rear passenger airbags not standard in your vehicle?
As Newton’s first law, “An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.” The passengers and the car will keep moving at the same speed until an external force by car accident. When the car crashes into the objects, the passengers still keep on moving at the original speed because of inertia, which leads to lots of casualties. In the late 1930s there was no reliable data on how the human body responds to the sudden, violent forces acting on it in an automobile accident. Furthermore, no effective tools existed to measure such responses.

(Motor Vehicle Safety)” “25,136 people have died from road departures, 9,213 people have died from stop sign intersections, and 4,749 people from being pedestrians and getting ran over or hit. Studies have shown that there is about and around 40,000 deaths every year (Motor Vehicle Safety). Accidents cost more than 150 billion dollars from medical bills, along with rehab and the damage cost to fix your damaged vehicle. Construction workers have made driving a little safer by adding padded dashes, safety glass, collapsible steering columns and anti- lock brakes. Improvements in highway construction has led to a decrease in the amount of car accidents and deaths (Motor Vehicle
Richard Petty once said “You’ll got home safe, so drive safe, and stay safe.” Being a racing legend, he is an advocate for safe driving to minimise the cases of road crushes that have been on the rise. He double up as the chairman of the Veterans’ Safe Driving Initiative, the initiative is aimed at guiding the veterans returning from deployment on safe driving tips. It is necessarily important since the infrastructure has changed over time. Another initiative is being run in Minnesota where the teens are guided on the important safe driving tips. Study shows that more crushes are likely to occur in teen driving than veteran driving. It is also evident that young drivers are more likely to cause a crush within six months of passing the driving test and young male are worse than the females in the field.
Car accidents are the leading cause of death for people under the age of 35. Wearing a seat belt can prevent death in about half of these accidents. Did you know that every 15 seconds someone is injured in an automobile accident if they are not buckled up, or that every 13 minutes someone is killed in a crash. Failure to wear a seat belt contributes to more fatalities than any other single traffic safety related behavior. According to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration seatbelts saved nearly 12,000 lives in the United States in the year 2000. The NHTSA estimates that more than 9,000 U.S. car accident fatalities in 2000 would have been avoided if the victims had been wearing seatbelts. Sixty three percent of the people killed in accidents were not wearing seat belts. The NHTSA a...
Nissan Motor Corporation is the automaker that seems to be the leader in safety technology. They implemented many features such as intelligent cruise control and advanced rear-view backup cameras to their vehicles. “The low-speed following mode operates at speeds under about 40 km/h to maintain an appropriate following distance in congested traffic, thereby helping reduce the driver’s workload” (Nissan 7). A teenager may get stressed out when trying to drive in high-traffic situations. Nissan is helping them by using an intelligent cruise control that will slow down and speed up with traffic while staying a distance away from the driver in front of them. It prevents the young driver from tailgating and coming into dangerous speed-related incidents. Teenage drivers are inexperienced and it is common for them to back into fixed objects. Parents get frustrated when they have to pay to fix the vehicle after it has been damaged and body work can be expensive. Nissan has everyone covered with their advanced rear-view backup camera. “A dashboard monitor shows the area behind the vehicle using a rear-mounted camera. This helps make parking easier and helps avoid collisions with fixed objects while backing” (Nissan 9). This seems to be a useful technology not only for the inexperienced teenage driver but also for the driver who is not so confident with backing up. Buying a Nissan car with said features
Although motor vehicle crashes are responsible for most severe maternal injuries and fetal losses form trauma, pregnant women have low rates of seat belt use. Proper seat belt use is the most significant modifiable factor in decreasing maternal and fetal injury and mortality after motor vehicle crashes. Seat belt-restrained women who are in motor vehicle crashes have the same fetal mortality rate as women who are not in motor vehicle crashes, but unrestrained women who are in crashes are 2.8 times more likely to lose their fetuses.
Based on available resources, 40000 people die each year in car accidents. This figure is an intimidating figure because it show the occurrence of death in a crash. In this accident, the leading cause of death is people under the age of 35 years old. Safety belts can prevent death in about half of these accident.
It’s true what everyone talks about safety – you are the key to your safety, when you do it safely you do it the right way and the best gift you can give to your family is to always stay safe. We have been taught by our parents and teachers to be cautious while doing a number of things. That’s very essential in our daily lives, because one needs to be extra cautious to prevent unavoidable accidents. However, mishaps do happen everywhere in the safest of places, no matter how careful we are in our actions. It is highly unpredictable, what’s going to happen the very next instant. There are numerous incidences we come across like simple trips, falls, cuts due to sharp objects, burns or sudden worsening of a person’s health condition, causing
People ride bicycles for various reasons. Some people ride bicycles for sport, fitness purposes, as a mode of transportation, fun activity, and some people ride bikes to simply relax and clear their mind after a long day. Regardless of the reason you ride, it is important to know the factors that contribute to bicycle and helmet safety. A study in 2014 shows that 103.7 million people rode a bike that year and 34 percent of Americans age three or older rode a bike at least once in that year (“Study: 103.7 Million Americans Ride Bikes”). The importance of bicycle safety cannot be underestimated. According to the 2008 Alabama Traffic Crash Facts, there were 182 bicycle crash injuries and four fatalities. In 2008, children 14 years old and under
