Advertising makes use of ethical, logical, and emotional appeals to persuade consumers to buy a product or embrace a brand (Hacker). Advertisement is very important in the marketing industry. One source of advertisement that most companies use is by magazine. Although magazine advertisements have been used since the mid-1700s, it is one of the most viewed sources, even though newspapers were created first. In 1741, American Magazine and The General Magazine were the first two magazines created in North America. The magazines did not last that long, but were very successful. According to History of Information, “Benjamin Franklin was the first to conceive the idea of publishing a magazine in the American colonies. However, Andrew Bradford's American Magazine, or Monthly View of the Political State of the British Colonies, published in Boston, beat Franklin to press by three days. Franklin's publication, issued in Philadelphia, was called The General Magazine, and Historical Chronicle for all the British Plantations in America. Bradford's magazine continued publication for three months; Franklin's for six months.” …show more content…

Cadillac is not only lacking in the advertisement industry, but they lack at being more descriptive and specific in their advertisements. Cadillac’s advertisement is published in Forbes Magazine, inside of the March 20, 2015 issue.
