Breaking the ¨social norms¨ or ¨social rules¨ impacts on our daily routines, whether it may participate in attending our regular classes, heading to our eight hour shift in an office, or being on the field in action. Each decision an individual makes begins to spread into many various paths to take throughout each hour of the day. From the moment we open our eyes to the time for our bodies to rest, we are constantly making decisions and theories, creating questions, collecting data and researching, or in thoughts we are basically categorizing each person we meet that day. Breaking the social norm is not wrong, it just changing or mixes things up for ourselves and others that may be involved, as in, ordering an item from the wrong place, giving more to others than usual, using the wrong eating utensils, simple volunteering to pay a higher price, or making a conversation more awkward than it would have to be. To break a social norm, I actually choose a few things to receive the reactions and datas I would need. My audience are various individuals, but they do include my co-workers, friends, and my younger sister. At first not one person knew what I was going or the reason I had done these, so it was difficult coming up with a reason. After a while, their reactions was somewhat confused, but they seemed to understand that breaking the social norms, in facts, affects each person in a daily life. Most likely, my co-workers found it hilarious to do a project and research considering they are high school students that look to me for college advice, they are looking forward to going the similar project in the school they choose. On a Monday morning, I decided to take the ¨Burger King¨ drive-through and ordered a McGriddle, however the p... ... middle of paper ... ...l, weird¨ reasons for stepping closer that they felt way too awkward. It seemed fun and joking, and to my surprise they also found it hilarious knowing the things I experimented with them. Their reactions were outrageous, but also not I was hoping for, I thought that they would be at least a bit irritated and would ask me to stop moving closer. During these experiment I conducted on those I personally knew and those that were complete strangers to me. I have received a lot reactions than I thought I would get considering that the majority proved that breaking the social norms to a daily routine, would make the day much more interesting. In the future, I would recommend to have this experiment done on those that barely know you, or those who have no clue who you are. Because getting the reactions from strangers, would basically fit an example to breaking social norms.
