Every goal in life is determined by the actions we take right now. Experiences and encounters with different people are lessons that teach us something new that could later on be applied in the future. I have always had a passion for helping others. Whether it was listening to people describe their difficulties or helping someone with a math problem, bringing aid to someone in need, to me was riveting. This pattern of helping others is something I hope to continue throughout my life. Biomedical engineering offers me a lifelong opportunity helping others and building a rewarding career. In order to reach this goal I have worked hard academically, and I have participated in numerous extra-curricular activities inside and outside of school. One …show more content…
My participation in Spartans Out Serving focused on volunteer work in the community and other organizations in which I am an officer has taught me valuable, life-long lessons in leadership and collaboration. A club I created known as the Girls for Krause club at Seven Lakes High School is one of them. This club is exclusively a group of students that volunteer and construct crafts with girls that have removed from their homes due to severe situations and mistreatment. This is another prime example of a club that fulfills my desire to aid those in need. Of these assets and others have also been developed through my participation in my schools Track and Field, basketball, and Cross country programs. Through sports I have learned the unconceivable feats that can be accomplished through hard work, self-discipline, and teamwork. I have never understood this better than when my Track Team on both the Varsity and Junior Varsity level won districts and the advanced to regionals. We won the regionals championships and even had two girls compete on the state level. My activities have not only shown me the strength of many, but have taught me the power of one. Through my community service I have seen first-hand the impact one person can make on another's life, especially through a great organization, such as
San Joaquin Memorial has had a significant impact on my leadership and service experiences in my life. During my time at SJM, I have gotten the chance to take part in leading sports teams. I was the captain of my JV basketball and volleyball teams my freshman year and I helped lead us to a successful season filled with hard work and integrity. Through my time as captain for my teams, I learned that being a leader requires a great amount of service to those who you're leading. Personally, my role as captain has been very meaningful in my leadership experiences at SJM. I learned to take initiative and encourage those who I am leading even when when situations get tough. Although it may be hard to lead a group of people when you're down, it shows
I have been a part of multiple pep rallies and am a role model to younger students. One moment, in particular, stands out to me on how much difference I can make in younger children. My new cheer coach had asked if anyone would be interested in volunteering their time to help the middle school squad learning the cheers. Being Varsity Cheer Co-Captain, I was more than happy to oblige. It was a no-brainer to help out because cheer is one of my favorite things. As I laced up my cheer shoes, I glanced up, I noticed the fresh-faced cheerleaders who timidly walked into the gym. They reminded me of me at that age, afraid that they didn't have what it took to be a cheerleader. However, as practices went on, they became more confident in their abilities. Volunteering my time was well worth it, I got to see the cheerleaders grow into more confident cheerleaders and people.
Biomedical engineering is a branch of science that connects engineering sciences with biological sciences that started around the 1940s (Citron & Nerem, 2004). Biomedical engineering is the discipline that promotes learning in engineering, biology, chemistry, and medicine. The objective for biomedical engineers is to enhance human health by incorporating engineering and biomedical sciences to solve problems. Some of the accomplishments made from biomedical engineering are prosthetics, robotic and laser surgery, implanted devices, imaging devices, nanotheranostics and artificial intelligence. As we head towards the future, biomedical engineering is anticipated to become an even greater part of the medical industry and bring about innovating
Life is a journey paved with colorful experiences. Mine have lead me on a path to helping others. Continuing my education in a subject that I find fascinating has brought me incredible fulfilment. My goal is to complete The Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology program.
My goal has always been to become a nurse, and I feel I should complete this because I know I can. I want to learn and be effective at my job. I want to utilize my skills and knowledge. I want to grow and be as helpful in life as I can. Also, I want to help those that need help, to make them feel better. Through my care, I want them to know that there is a person in the world who cares about them. I feel that I can achieve this as a nurse and much more.
My goal since my toddler years has been to be a hero. Today, I cannot envision myself doing anything else. My long-term goal since the beginning of high school has been to contribute to the biomedical sciences, whether it is as a researcher, a surgeon, or a clinical physician. I aspire to make change, even the smallest improvement in anyone’s life.
Throughout my adult life, my passion has been to help others. I have always been driven to make the world we live in a better place, even if it is just for that one person. My passion and drive have been the influencing factors in my personal history, my interest in Therapeutic Recreation and my academic and career goals.
I can never forget the time I wrapped slices of raw onions onto my grandpa's foot. I looked up at his strained face, and very calmly he said to me, "It burns, can you please take it off?" My dad, next to me, told me to ignore his requests. He studied Chinese medicine, and this was an Eastern remedy to lower blood pressure. My grandpa had recently had a spike in blood pressure, and it was terrifying to realize that I could have easily lost him to a heart attack or stroke.
In the future, I wish to obtain an occupation in the medical field. I would like to start out by working for a Biology major and working in a premedical field in college where I can use my interest in medicine and my curiosity for knowledge to gain insight that would be needed to become a helpful doctor in the medical field. As I move along in my career, I would like to work my way through the pathway so that I can expand my skills in healing others, such as diagnostic abilities, effectively giving treatment and so on. I want to learn as much as possible so I can fulfill my ultimate dream of helping others that need answers to their medical problems and so that more people can live happily and healthily in the world. I hope to bring happiness to others and allowing people to live comfortably.
Biomedical engineering is the application of engineering techniques to biology and medicine to improve healthcare and medical products. Since their work mainly consists of research and development, biomedical engineers work in manufacturing, universities, and research facilities. There are not many educational requirements or job experience needed to enter this field. However, biomedical engineers often benefit from having a large number of degrees and work experience.
I have always been captivated by the human body and how it is designed with complete
The greatest innovations that will improve and help save lives starts with a field that integrates the principles of engineering into medical uses. Biomedical engineers produce the modern technologies that medical professionals use today. They usually have four to six year college degrees, make around eighty to hundred and ten thousand dollars annually, and are typically employed by hospitals, privates companies, and universities.
I have been involved in the American Cancer Society for five years. My team, Team Hoot has raised funds for cancer as well as participating in Relay for Life each year. This year, I will be on the board committee at Relay; giving back to the survivors. This organization is one that I always promote and give back to. Also being involved in Relay for Life this year, National Honors Society is a club that helps the community. Being on the executive board, I correlate new service projects as well as corresponding with the Lee County National Honor Society chapter. Also, I am forming a new club at North Fort Myers High, Red Cross Club. Being president, Red Cross helps donates funds back to the American Red Cross. This year we are planning to donate materials for our troops as well as materials for individuals in disaster situations. Giving back to the community is very important to me. Being passionate about making a difference is a drive that I always
Many people don't know what biomedical engineers do. A biomedical engineer’s job is actually quite interesting. They analyze and create solutions to improving the quality and effectiveness of patient care. They also design technology to accommodate the needs of people with disabilities. They have a big role in helping people begin new lives. The main job of a biomedical engineer is to help create prosthetic limbs or organs for those who are in need of one.
My goal was and is to be a competent doctor and provide compassionate care to all patients. With much dedication, I became a doctor. I wanted to help the underprivileged, especially those in rural areas. I began work in North Sri Lanka where the civil war had most severely afflicted and I witnessed an average of 100 casualties daily. As there was a shortage of medical professionals, I gained the opportunity of becoming a well-rounded physician.
