Bethany Hamilton, got her arm bit off by a shark. Hyeonseo Lee, escaped Noth Korea and Aron Ralston got his hand stuck in between two canyons. These are all people who are able to stay strong in spite of difficulty. For a person to be a survivor it takes mental fitness, perseverance and courage. Initially, Mental fitness is a key trait that one must have in order to survive any situation. Bethany Hamilton states in Young Surfer Girl Tells Tale of Shark Attack that " I think I figured out that, like if I panicked then things wouldn’t go as good as if I was calm." Even though Hamiltons situation was horrendous, she made the best out of it by having a healthy and positive mindset. Mental fitness allowed Hamilton to handle the hardship thrown at her, which was losing one of her arms. Even today she continues to stay strong and continue to surf. Hyeonseo Lee in "My Escape from North Korea" stated that she hid her identity for 10 whole years after she escaped, she then went back to North Korea to start a new life again. Lee went back to North Korea to get back her family. Lees family was caught and Lee was almost caught too. Lee continued to move on and help others and also help her family escape from misery. Lees perseverance helped her and her family meet up again and connect. Carrying the trait of perseverance made Lee able to see her family after 14 years of determination, strength and not giving

Pretty Little Liars is a TV show that focuses on the lives of four girls who cope with the death of their close friend, Alison DiLaurentis. Later in the show, Ali actually comes back to the town which causes of a lot more drama and confusion. Mona is secenteen and attended Rosewood High school where she wanted to be a friend of the close group of four. The book Parvana by Deborah Ellis shows_ endurance in many ways. The most obvious way was through Parvana and how her family shaped her endurance. Parvana is_a young girl from Afghanistan whose father was taken by the Taliban. Parvana sacrifices much, including her hair. Parvana gets over her fears with her families support, and goes to work in the market for her family that needs it most.

Throughout the novel, the author, Erin Bowman, shows that curiosity is found to be unfortunate which influences people to break rules, since it was not always meant to be pursued. Being too curious can lead to complications, new innovations and discovering private knowledge.
Many people encounter perseverance throughout their life in certain events. Buck from the Call of the Wild, is taken from a place like home to him and thrown into a harsh environment he is not used to. Similar to that, my mom was living a normal life when suddenly she had to stay strong for the family due to her brother near death from a tragic wreck. Even though they differ, both had to adapt to the life changing experiences and stay mentally strong.
What traits give one the ability to survive? Some examples of survivors can be found in these texts, Hyeonseo Lee: "My Escape from North Korea", "The Most Dangerous Game" by Richard Connell, and "Trapped", by Aron Ralston. The survivors in these stories show how sheer determination, clear decisiveness and a deep internal drive, are necessary to survive a challenging and dangerous ordeal.
In my opinion, the title “typical hero” and the dauntless heroine Tris Prior are definitely unrelated based on her personality and uniqueness. As she is a Divergent to her society, she is also an outcast to the typical heroes that we all know and love. With that being said, it is no surprise that the recognition of Tris’ uniqueness and distinctiveness makes her a “non-typical hero”. In particular, we see many heroines with protagonist characters; however, how many typical heroes have the abnormal personality that we find with Tris, showing both antagonistic and protagonist attributes? We may find quite a few amounts of heroes having negative components, since most heroes are strictly protagonists, yet none compares
A survivor is someone who can take the pressure of the hardship they may go through in life. Can push their limits and do things they may not want to do. A survivor is someone who stays strong and positive in a time of doubt, or to have hope when the situation seems hopeless. Someone who does not give up no matter how much they want to. Instead he keeps his head up because he knows that he has his friends and family waiting for him when he comes home. A survivor needs motivation to survive situations of doubt and hopelessness.
Have you ever blamed someone for something they never did? In the play written by Arthur Miller, The Crucible, Abigail Williams accuses many people of witchcraft which eventually leads to the death of twenty innocent people. Ever since she is caught dancing in the woods at the beginning of the play, Abigail and her friends have been trying to disguise their mistakes by blaming others for “being with the devil.” By the end of the play, Abigail is responsible for the death of many people because of the flaws she had which led her to make poor decisions. As the television show begins it flashes between two scenes, Detective Rollins being at an AA meeting and her coworkers at Detective Benson’s home celebrating her promotion. I did not know what to expect out of this episode because of how it began. I have always been a huge fan of crime television shows, but Law & Order is one of my favourites. My favourite character is Mariska Hargitay who plays Detective Benson. She always finds out the truth in every case and does not cut the criminals any slack.
Cal is a character who has to deal with other peoples' problems while having to deal with his own problems. Cal has to deal with his father losing his job and his father doesn't support Cal when it comes to sports. Wanting his dad to go to some of his games, Cal discusses with his mom about his dad coming to the games. "Do you think you and Dad might come?" "No... not tonight, you know your is going through a lot right now." I zipped my gym bag shut. "Yeah, I know, but I wish he'd see me play sometime" (West 16). Helping out Cal, Peggy brings up Cal's last football game at the dinner table, trying to gain her fathers' attention on the subject. In Daisy Miller, Henry James slowly reveals the nature of Daisy"s character through her interactions with other characters, especially Winterbourne, the main character." The author uses third person narration; however, Winterbourne"s thoughts and point of view dominate." Thus, the audience knows no more about Daisy than Winterbourne." This technique helps maintain the ambiguity of Daisy"s character and draws the audience into the story.
H) In the jungle, under an enormous tree log made of oak wood that smells like old newspaper, and you’re looking at a night so full of stars that the darkness seems transparent. Soon you hear the sound of an old 90’s stereo playing the Beastie Boys’ greatest hits with the music so loud that your ears pop and they start aching as funky beat the inches closer and closer. Then you hear the noisy voices modern American family calling an ambulance and you know that you’ve survived. B) Being a survivor takes a lot of heart and soul of you. Just ask Hyeonseo Lee, Aron Ralston, and Alison Dilaurentis and Cece Drake off of Pretty Little Liars. Lee had to survive without her family, Ralston had to survive being trapped under a rock, and Alison and Cece had to survive mental and physical pain. T) Lee’s courage, Ralston’s clever, and Alison and Cece’s endurance made them survivors.
