Older siblings have a significant impact on the younger siblings’ lives. They may guide them by advocating, como te ves, me vi y como me ves, te verás. The dicho literally translates as how one sees another is how that one person once saw themselves. Adolescents should respect their older siblings, accept their advice, and hear out their experiences about life. The dicho may come to mind to an older sibling and use it to it to show the correct path in life, the understanding between right and wrong, and influence a positive attitude in life. Like parents, the older ones will punish them or take away their privileges, older siblings are basically like mini parents to their siblings. Siblings spend a considerable amount of time together while growing up. Therefore, the older siblings characteristics and actions influence the younger ones. Characteristics such as caring about school, their grades, and being positive, will show them that it is important in life. Yes, siblings are like parents, but they are also their first best friends in life. They are always there while growing up, know everything, and love unconditionally. They also want to spread happiness, and hate to see their sibling upset. Advice having to do with relationships, school, and also sports. It is difficult having to accept advice from parents because kids usually don’t listen to them, but receiving advice is different and more understanding coming from a sibling.
