What defines a bad teacher? Is a teacher really not fit for their positions or are the just ignorant to different ways to get their students to understand the material? I believe teachers are harshly criticized by the society. I believe however they do internships and student teaching they still need further education. Teaching is a hard job, teachers have to keep a class of on average of 28 students quiet and interested, plan lesson plans, and figure out a way to make the students get it. I believe teachers know the information however they do not know how to accommodate different students learning styles. When I was in first grade my teacher started to notice I had trouble with reading different texts and comprehending what I was reading. She informed my mother and the special education teachers that I would need extra help. They discovered that I was dyslexic and had an IEP. Just because someone is told they have dyslexia or and IEP doesn’t mean they can’t work through it. Financially my family was …show more content…

When I’d go home my mother would pour rice or flour on the kitchen counter and I would write out the words in the flour. I was a visual and hands on learner however writing the words on repeatedly didn’t help. Students learn in different ways so if we just wire teachers to accommodate one type of learning style then we are automatically minimizing how successful the rest of the class will be.
According to Learning Style Online they say there 's seven main types of learning styles. The first learning style is a visual learner. A visual learns comprehends topics by pictures or images.
