Is a College education worth it? College is something that is on almost every teenager mind at sometime or another. Debating whether college is for you or if it isn’t can be a real hassle when thinking about your future. Talking to people that have went to college or researching colleges and its benfits could help swing your opinion on whether you want to attend one or not. Though there are people who say college is not worth it it is actually worth it because college graduates make more money and have a lower poverty rate than those who only completed high school. Although college graduates tend to make more money and are least likely to live in poverty there is also the fact that alot of them are in debt. The average college graduate is in debt about $20,000 accourding to the article "Young Student Loan Borrowers Retreat from Housing and Auto Markets” it states that “Between 2003 and 2012 the number of 25-year-olds with student debt increased from 25% to 43%, and their average loan balance was $20,326 in 2012--a 91% increase since 2003.” Being in debt if you miss a payment you are likely to have a poor credit score and have additional fees accourding to the in the article “How the $1.2 Trillion College Debt Crisis Is Crippling Students, Parents and the Economy” it states that “Missing or being late for loan payments often results in a lower credit score and additional fees, thus escalating the debt problem and potentially jeopardizing future purchases and employment.” Although college debt is a problem among many college graduates there is more pros in attending and completing college than the cons of it such as college graduates have lower poverty rates and have higher
