Personal Statement
After hours of thinking of what special quality do I have that can make my personal statement stand out, I have came to realise that my quality is that I put others needs before my own, more often than I should but I do this because im also a very loving and caring person who would do almost anything to put a smile on others faces. Growing up I have had to deal with many problems such as self-harm and depression due to years of relentless bullying, and I have had to overcome these problems by myself as the psychologists I saw often gave up with me if I did not open up to them about my problems immediately. Due to this I had to do my own research to try and help myself and found myself intrigued by the human brain and human behaviour that we use in everyday life. I also learned from researching that self harm and depression is constantly increasing through the years, and I know I could help people overcome these issues. I feel that psychology can answer so many unanswered questions and help many people. I have always wondered and asked myself questions about the world around me and the people who populate it, this lead me to take religious moral and philosophical studies, which has made me an open minded …show more content…

When working with younger children I need observe as well as interact to try and motivate the children when they get distracted from their work. As I have been working in that class since they started secondary school I often feel myself looking at the relationships the children are starting to develop with each other as well as the cliques and hierarchy that I can see slowly start to develop amongst them. This continues to spark my interest of social sciences and psychology. Being a prefect also requires me to work with children as we have many duties such as escorting first years around the school and keeping an eye on them when they first come to the
