There is one sensational man who managed to create some of the most intelligent photographs known to the world using only shades of white and black. Ansel Easton Adams was an all American landscape photographer and conservationist. When he made his pictures, he didn’t let others opinions in; he simply took the shots he wanted, and captured them the way that he would like to see them if they were not his own. Throughout Adams’ life, he didn’t only construct work that taught others, but also inspired many along the way. Birth & Parents Paragraph: On February 20, 1902, Ansel Easton Adams was born in San Francisco, California. He was born to Oliver Bray and Charles Hitchcock Adams. For Emerson, the reticent beauty of nature was the motivator. To him, photography should be recognized because its still-life beauty was able to persuade the public’s appreciation of the life and nourishment

Adams not only was an excellent photographer, but he even taught himself to play the piano and read music at only twelve years old. Not much after teaching himself how to play, he began to take lessons which became a “substitute for formal schooling” for him (Turnage). He spent twelve years of his life committed to the piano and even planned on making it his profession. Although, he ended up giving up on music, playing the piano brought structure and discipline in his life; the training and craft also helped enlighten his artistic vision. His artistic vision was not only enlightened by his practice of the piano, but by his love of nature as well. His love of nature began by ...
Adams' love for Yosemite was portrayed through his elegant words and pure black and white images of the valley. The natural beauty of Yosemite was shared with the world through his images of unspoiled rushing streams, raging waterfalls, crystal clear lakes, lone trees and high sierra mountain peaks. In the combination of his photographs and writings, Adams demonstrated "that those who appreciate the earth's wild places have a duty and responsibility to use them wisely and well...
Neil Young’s music is impressive to me mostly because of the wide span of genres it encompasses, and as such, the large amount of emotions it conjures. What’s interesting to me is how he’s viewed so differently from person-to-person; some may think of him as a country-rock star, complete with cowboy hat and toothpick, while others think of him as a hard rock icon complete with ripped jeans and a raggedy shirt. It all likely depends on how your own musical journey developed; “Heart of Gold” and “Rockin’ in the Free World” are two of his better-known songs, yet each one is played on very different radio stations than the other. I remember diving deeper into his body of work and being amazed at how much ground it covered; there are songs that are the epitome of despair and desperation, and there are also songs that make you giddy with excitement. How can one man be such a jack-of-all-trades with his music and sound completely genuine and inspired every time? Logic would seem to dictate that such a person would only manage to be merely good at everything he tries, not great. Neil Young, however, is an exception to that thought process, always searching for his muse, thankfully documenting the journey for all to hear.
Adams uses a plethora of rhetorical contrivances in order to encourage her son to act responsibly in his endeavors overseas. Among many other devices, she frequently uses allusions in the text in an attempt to get her message across to her child. The author speaks of people who Quincy “owes” his existence to, a people who “aided by a glorious defense of their invaded liberties, and who aided by their generous and powerful ally, with the blessing of heaven, will transmit this inheritance to ages yet unborn.’’ (Adams, 46-49). She includes this quote in order to remind her son of their families of their strong corroboration with the recent Revolutionary War, and how his life wouldn`t be the same if it hadn`t been for passionate democratic partisans,
Ansel Adams’ was an American photographer who strived to inform people about wilderness preservation throughout his photographs. Each of the artist’s prints, mostly consisting of black and white, showed how each captured moment was an experience into the wilderness and a moment that speaks out about the preservation of the last remaining wilderness landmarks. Throughout his career, Ansel used a variety of cameras including a Hasselblad, a Korona view, a Polaroid Land SX-70, Linhof, Leica, and a 35 mm Zeiss Contax. With his cameras in hand, Ansel set off on many journeys through the wilderness in order to make photographs filled with expression and truth.
When I found out I qualified to be a candidate for the NJHS, I knew I had to take this chance. This group is made up of people who depict leadership, character, citizenship, academic success, and service and I would love to join. These characteristics wouldn't just be valuable for a candidate to have, but for everyone to have to exceed in life. If I were to be in the National Junior Honor Society, it would give me an opportunity to ameliorate my future and motivate me to do better.
Throughout the course of history there has been many remarkable people that have created an impact on the world. But what is hero? Robert F. Kennedy once said, “Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or lots of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a ripple of hope.” Meaning a true hero is someone who can stand up for an idea, or can help eliminate the unfair treatment in which the rights of a person are ignored; and everytime gives people the faith that everything is going to be okay after all. John Lennon is a good example of a hero based on Robert F. Kennedy's description of a hero. John lennon is a hero because he peacefully fought against war through his fame and music, promoting peace and inspiring many people.

Crime has a substantial influence on everyday life. Theories for criminal behaviour are as old as the types of behaviours themselves. Amongst these theories is the idea of anomie. The sociological notion of anomie is used as a theoretical tool to understand the intersection of social structure, culture and criminal or deviant behaviour. Although the concept of anomie theory has varied between scholars, central to the different versions of anomie theory is the premise that human are normative beings; that people think and act on the basis of commonly held beliefs and traditions. Anomie theory was popularised by the classic works of Emile Durkheim and further explored by Robert K Merton.
What do you consider art? Paintings, sculptures, drawings, or maybe something else. I know, when I think of art, I think of photography. Photography Is used for business, science, manufacturing, art, recreational purposes, mass communication, and more. Photography is using light to do amazing things, and some people think of photography as a story that just needs to be told. Ansel Adams probably believed this. He said, “You don’t take a photograph, you make it.” Photography has a long interesting history, like the fact that the word photography is made up of two greek words, photos meaning ‘light’ and graphein which is ‘to draw’ ! Photography also has some complicated techniques to get a hang of taking good photos. Have you heard of the rule of thirds? Or do you know how a camera works? Well, that will all be explained. Maybe, by the end you will take up photography too. This essay will explore the history and types of cameras and the basic rules for taking photographs.
