1. Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder that effects both men and women of all ages but most common in women. Refusal to maintain a healthy body weight. Many women in this day and age are taught by the media that being skinny or tiny in size is the healthy or more wanted body type, because of this women refuse to eat or take other measures to keep their weight extremely low to accomplish this. Many believe that even when they are small in body type that they are still large and see an overweight self in the mirror. No matter how skinny they may become it is never enough and they will still have a poor self-image and low confidence. There are two types of anorexia. Bulimia nervosa is when a person binge eats and following that binge they will make drastic efforts to avoid the weight gain. For a person with bulimia, this is a constant cycle and causes a strain emotionally. An average binge is consuming 3000 to 5000 calories in an hour. Once the binge is finished someone may choose to take a 9 mile run, take a laxative or vomiting to get all of those calories out of the body to prevent weight gain. Most common in women
3. I definitely believe that this could be a potential call in the future as a police officer. Situation that could arise when dealing with these unfortunate issues are that bodies start to break down. Individuals passing out could be an example of a possible call. Knowing how to deal with this and how to get the resources to help individuals with this illness is important. Possible calls could be people passing out, stomach issues and maybe someone making the call to just try and get help for the person directly.
4. Dyssomnia is a disorder of getting to sleep, staying asleep or excessive sleepiness. Parasomnias are disorders of arousal or the interference between sleep and waking. The difference between the two is that dyssomnia are the disorders of sleep or wakefulness whereas parasomnia disorders are concentrating on the sleep and wake
